Guys, I ordered a 7206 from Ruby a long while ago. I wanted to try it out yesterday and noted that it doesn't take gen 2mm springbars. Anyone else who has this issue? They try to create a 7206 but they don't fit gen springbars?

Quick update! What I gathered so far: 1. Valjoux 72 movement, fully serviced. Might sell and buy a V726. 2. Ruby 6263 case => ISSUES, read below 3. gen hands 4. gen crown & pushers 5. gen dome crystal 6. gen bracelet 7. Dark Lord dial => awaiting this Issues: I have a 78350 19 bracelet with 571 endlinks, they just don't fit the Ruby case, one sits well between the lugs but how it touches the case is really bad, the other one doesn't fit well between the lugs (I really need to push it between the lugs), both have horrible fitting at the case. Anyone who has experience with using a Ruby case and gen 571 endlinks? Thanks.

Yep, that is correct, 5512 PCG's are slightly thinner. No idea on the exact height.

small update, case will be sent to a laserwelder, so step one has been taken!

Well, a lot... I was able to buy a 6263 T SWISS T dial 2y ago for 6k USD I think. I've inquired to a few guys I know and a service dial is going around 6k €, I've had 2 prices of 18.5k € and even 38k €... Offcourse for NOS dials. Great projects! I was able to get a set of gen parts (T21, P302 pushers, crown, tube, all hands) at a great price so going with them. But to me the pushers of MQ and Phong look great vs gen and seem to a better alternative vs cousins. Although cousins is cheap offcourse. It all depends on how close you want to get your build I guess? I prefer the original look with P301 MKII pushers for my build and would consider the Phong/MQ ones. I do have gen P302's for now though. These are interesting builds, hehe.

my guy doesn't work on reps I have heard there are good workshops in Hungary but I don't speak Hungarian. Maybe someone else could help with that? Would be great to have a welder working on reps.

I'd do it as a project for myself but wouldn't make 10 of these... I was thinking about it as it can be quite accurate and relatively low cost. I'll work on my 6263 project first (sample stage for the bezel and dial). And will read/search more for this project during the 6263 project.

I have seen that thread as well @automatico Small update: I have found 3 possible parties to create a custom dial: 1. Taiwan, they want to produce it but I have to apply the crown myself (they will make the crowns) 2. Vietnam (he sources the same parts as MQ, Ruby, etc., not a well known source), Ruby couldn't do it. MQ will probably be too expensive. 3. UK (only a one off and very expensive, base looks like a viet dial, pad printing is top notch) All 3 are interesting, and the Taiwanese factory might be the most interesting because they can build it from scratch and offer custom made indexes. Something what bothers me on the viet dials are the indexes as well, the brushing is not refined enough. Hard to see without a loupe though.

Haha, no, I was wondering if anyone has done this before as it would be cool imo. The triple six is a great blend between old and new and with the good BP SD I would be surprised of nobody has done this before.

Well, I know a handful of amazing laserwelders that work on watches but they won't do it on a rep case. They're all in Italy, and AMAZING at what they do. One particular reason why I stay away from Italian vintage dealers, hehe.

Been thinking about this. The 16660 is my favourite SD variant. We have an amazing rep with the BP SD. I'm just wondering if anyone else already went this way, since the differences between the 16600 and 16660 are subtle, wouldn't it be possible to turn the BP SD into an old matte SD? Work to do: - change datewheel - change dial - change hands (not sure) - create larger chamfers - create thicker crown guards (who's able to laserweld on the forum?) - different bracelet Anyone else who went that way?

Quick update on my build. So far I have: 1. V72 movement 2. Gen hands set 3. Gen crystal 4. Gen crown and tube 5. Custom bezel => sample production will start after CNY 6. Custom dial => talking to two sources now Many of you opt to use the 302 pushers from Cousins/Ofrei, what's wrong with the 301 pushers from Phong/MQ? They have MK1's, unfortunately no MK2's. For the case I'll go with Ruby, I like her so far and she seems to have good stuff, reasonably priced. I don't see much difference with Phong. As for the movement, Phong has 2 versions, a very high grade V727 and a lower grade V727. Not sure if the 6.5k usd is for the high grade or low grade. So, why do you guys prefer the Cousins 302's vs Phong/MQ 301? Attached the MKI's from MQ.

A 1575GMT can still be had at a better price if you look well. Or you can buy a 1570 date movement and convert it with the necessary parts. I was able to buy my V72 for €400, so a good deal. Changing it to a V726 would be ideal. Invest in the exterior parts first then get a conversion at a later stage, that's what I have in my mind now. It will be an expensive project but it's still a fraction of a gen one.

18038 for $6.5k?! Head only I assume?
