  1. I have sold all my watches for heavy reduced prices i now many are very happy whit buying from me, still i don't ask for others to have reduced price they can do what they whant..
What you do with your personal sales speaks louder than your protest on behalf of those who are seeking to sneak in and score from a uneducated buyer then, call for 'delete this post'...

You can't have it both ways, Dani,.. what happened in the trading forum with Chad IS the 'Market' Speaking.

So What you are saying is that we should keep our mouths shut unless it conforms to your notions, which again you don't support with your actions demonstrated in how you sell your pieces....

I find this conflicted arguing for the sake of arguing..

  2. The very mission of this site is to help people get what they pay for,.. I don't see any reason why we expect the trade forum to be exempt from the same message.

In my opinion there is not enough public response to some of what goes on there....

All this 'The market makes the rules' arguments has is being distorted and used in ways that are not in line to our community goals...

For instance if someone is selling a rare piece, or one that has the mods to prove it's worth, and someone makes a uninformed opinion regarding the price,.. then they will be quickly corrected by those in the know..

However if someone is using the used trade forum to make a profit,.. for a piece that is readily available from a dealer for less.. that's seeking to take advantage of ignorance and should be pointed out...

It makes no difference if the watch was 'unworn'.. because a private seller does not offer the same kinds of guarantees that a dealer does,.. so it's a moot point.

    The trade forum at it

  3. Obama may likely be the first "black" POTUS, but not in 2008. Just doesn't seem right to me. He needs to get some depth to his message, because I for one don't see anything meaningful in his "audacity of hope" message. I am not even sure what it means! I listened to his stump speech once and have never seen somebody get more applause for saying a bunch of empty, meaningless jargony Oprah catchphrases. Obama has a lot of talent, no doubt, but he needs a decade or so of experience in the Senate (or Illinois governor, etc.) to put some meat on his bones so to speak. He's only 45, so he's got plenty of time...
Listened to his stump speech once ? That explains your confusion...

Regarding his experience and age,..at 46, he's older than both Kennedy and Clinton when they took the oval office, and has more experience where it counts than both of them,. with his grass roots organizing from the ground up on behalf of the working class, and doing it for reasons of community benefit not for financial gain.

His political and law experience is very much the same as Lincoln had when he was sworn in.

All three of those presidents had opposition groups saying exactly the same thing about them while they ran for president,

  4. No matter the era, 40 to 42mm watches will always remain the classic size for men that transcends trend.

They are the sizes that will never stamp you with a generation,...

We all know however, that some people are not able to remove themselves from certain trends, no matter how time marches on.

My son's are still wearing baggy pants, after 20 years of the fashion started, and my father's still into his hats, so I'm sure we will see in 50 years, old men wearing their 46mm watches on their bony wrists while holding their canes. ^_^

  5. Interesting how many people, verses doing research into their 'opinions' parrot what they have heard, shoot from their hip, or are too willing to swallow toxic spin, if it fits what they want to believe.

Regarding Obama,.. if you would say he lacks experience to be president, then you would not have voted for Lincoln either.

If you would call him Racist, by what his older generation preacher said,. a man who lived through some of the worst racism, but would then totally bypass what Paul has himself said regarding Race,.. then read paragraph one....

  6. Absoulutely dig that mesh !! Looks fantastic on you !

Too bad however that those of us with sub 7" wrists can't wear them unless you like the loose fit,

or can somehow remove more of the band..

Hey Pix,.. I'm going for the 46 regardless, for one, because of even if they make a rep of the smaller version,

38mm is a bit too tiny,.. and 2nd because the north to south diameter on the full size version is actually a bit smaller than

a 44mm pam,...and as long as the lugs don't overhang the wrists, then it's okay in my book...

I tried once a Fiddy, which I could also pull off size wise,..however without a bezel,.. the crystal to me looked like a huge

bubble, and it threw off the balance on my smaller wrist, but this Heritage with it's bezel would fit as far as I'm concerned.

  7. In my opinion after years of collecting close to 200 pieces,.... replicas and Asian movements are perfect for one another, much the same as replica or kit cars have engines that match what they are, and will always be no matter how much the

    body is upgraded.

I seriously don't believe that most of us will pass along these replicas to our kids and many of us have figured out long ago that Asian movements can be just as hearty as Swiss, and will usually outlast the interest of the owner.

  8. Thanks Rocky ! Clears it up for me...! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

When it comes to size,.. North to South measurments are most important, not as some would believe east to west,

and correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the pam is actually longer length wise, than the heritage..?

as lug wrist overhang, is to me a no-no...

Last but not least, as was mentioned,... the curvature of the case and lugs makes a huge difference.

I too hate those watches that sit off the wrist and suspend the lug ends high and dry,

like feet on short legs in a chair that can't reach the floor....and is one reason I won't wear a vintage rolex

despite how much I love the history and look of those bond subs...

These issues are key for me when buying a watch,... and it's good to see that I'm not alone.. ^_^

  9. All logical reasons for holding onto the crucifiction theory, have been cleanly washed away,..

What remains to hide behind, is emotional gibberish...or is it a free watch you seek you sly devil ? ;)

Maybe it's the thrill of being on the receiving end of one of his post sale replies ? Makes you feel like a

    important man ?

Whatever it is,.. it's not painting a picture of stalwart loyalty, but of a cross eyed and grinning rear scrubber...

Can we get back to watches now ?

I'm surprised many more are not raving about that new Breitling Heritage,...

  10. I am pleased to see the membership at large understands. Neil has been and is a friend to many folks here. Unfortunately he has basically self-destructed at RWG as he has done at 3 out of 4 forums and there is no turning back. The admin team tried to do the right thing by him and the forum by asking him to take a breather from dealing to allow him to catch up with his prior obligations and regain his health. Unfortunately his response made the decision inevitable. As has been said innumerable times before threats to T or any member of the admin team will not be tolerated.

IMHO, way too much time was spent on trying to figure out how to fix the original issue. His response made it a necessity. And yes I do wish him the best and a rapid return to health. Hopefully he will change his attitude at the one remaining forum where he still has posting privileges. We were not the first who were forced to resort to this. Hopefully we will be the last.

If anyone still thinks after reading the above post, that there were personal vendettas against Neil, or somehow this is unfair, they should realize that their own personal limited experience and history with him, leaves out a whole

spectrum of information, and interactions that should to be factored into your feelings.

These problems with Neil have been going on for years,..and through many boards.

Also as was mentioned before, some situations have been kept private for the sake of peace on the board and personal

friendships, I know this for a fact.

There were times when the boards bent over backwards, then were forced into cutting him off, and others when they

allowed him back dispite their knowing that the situation would deteriorate eventually, as it always has, a cycle that repeats itself like seasons.

Yes, he may have treated you personally just great, however isn't it better to take the mindset that what hurts some of us, hurts us all ?

Until we can get to that point of view, then we are not much better than the outside world where it's dog eat dog imho...

  11. Let me say, that there has been no moment that I have been more proud to be a member of this forum, though my current financial situation prevents for the first time my being a paid member.

I just hope that this will mark some sort of permanent upgrade in the service to the membership for anyone that will take on the responsibility to profit from our community.

I also say for the record, that I pray for Neil, in all ways that pertain to his honest endevours, and hope for a satisfactory conclusion for all concerned weather that be for this group buy, or upholding the reputation of our board.

Lastly, but not at all least,....

We should appreciate TwoTone for his gleaming and firm stance in always trying his best to keep our ship on course !

  12. Andrew, I always enjoy your post, love your taste in watches, and highly respect your opinions...

In this case however I wanted to point out that patience, at least in the case of Neil is not always key.

In what other pursuit of a purchase would close to a year wait be rude or impatient if you complained ?

    What time factor constitutes a rip off ? 3 months, 4 ? 6 ? 10 ?.. a year ?

I would reiterate the fact that in some cases there is a distinct and intentional lack of communication once payment is made.

I don't know about you, but if someone takes my money, then ignores me,.. that is grounds for trouble...

Am I alone in this ? :whistling:

I wonder at how many people who are loathe to post their experiences...

My experience in the replica boards all the way back to rwg1 would say that most tend not to post anything negative and if I were a newbie I would never post what I am now

  13. I really don't understand how some people think that publicly accusing one of our longest standing dealers is going to get them their watch any quicker? I just don't get it. If somebody owed me something I would be as diplomatic about it as possible. Especially when dealing with counterfeit goods with a guy half way around the world. I see guys here that are screaming because they haven't received a watch ordered on January 30th for christ sakes! My first watch took longer than that, and I never had any thought of publicly crying "scammer". TTK posted in this very thread his reasons for delay. Be nice. Be patient. You'll get your watch. If you want to be an a$$hole about it, its probably just going to take longer.

And btw, all the information about how TTK does business is available. Its no secret. You guys probably knew that or should have done your homework before placing your orders.

    Not always the case,...

Though I wish Neil the best of health, and feel for him, it's foolish to a degree of emotional silliness to dismiss all that has transpired in the long history of TTK the dealer, just because of it.

After all, business IS business and if he is, as is always stated, just a rich collector that dabbles in this trade for the benefit of us all, then I say relax and retire and get your health back as this game is full of headache that we have created with our spoiled demand for genuine quality in replicas.

    Neil is Neil,

  14. Highly honest and wonderful post !! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Sooner or later the smarter ones realize much of what was stated, either that, or they have some financial motive for not acknowledging or hiding the facts that much of what passes as a pass-time, financially and time wise, has the real potential to be detrimental to the masses no more or less than being the proverbial fish in the a barrel or the sailor on shore leave after being at sea for months with a pocket full of cash and brain full of goo....

Not dismissing the friendships that happen nor the great knowledge of watches in general that will be of benefit when leaving, by maturing or rematerializing into the real world...

That said however, I will always buy rep first to see if my love will last with any particular watch...

That to me is just plain common sense .... -_-

  15. Does my 8 months long wait enable me to post here even if I was well before than the group buy?

In this case, I did not receive:

    1. one noobmariner

    2. one LV noobmariner

    3. one PP Nautilus Jumbo

If I were dead in these last 8 months and he delivers tomorrow, would it make for a come through?

I think I can beat that,.... 10 months then had to settle for a different watch than what I ordered.... :1a:
  16. ..depends upon the economic times I am experiencing,..

When up,.. it's a toy store, and I don't think twice about adding more trinkets to my toy box...

When down,.. it's a crack house, and I can only look in the window at all the other junkies,

many of which will end up like me in poorman's rehab... ^_^
