  1. Its also worth putting a little wd40 or similar penetrating oil on the threads of the crownguard, just a touch to make screwinging it down easier and preventing crossing the threads in future. Congratulations on choosing a great rep.
  2. Breitling Skyland problably be next year though knowing my luck.
  3. Missed this first time around, nice one Pugs, enjoyed that. Have a gold star
  4. Hi machote, and welcome. Good advice from BobM there, there is a heap of info here if you take the time to search for it. Consider the VIP upgrade too, take a lot out, then give a little bit back. I wish you a long and happy stay with us. Warm regards.
  5. Fantastic effort Chrgod, thanks for that. Excellent idea, might be worth keeping it updated to show the top at any given moment. Wish it was there when I started out.
  6. Its a sad trend that I don't see ending soon. Unfortunately as long as there is enough intrest at these price levels it will continue. For every one knowlageable buyer like yourself there will be ten less switched on and eager to pay with the premium price tag.
  7. I would have thought that you could only scratch sapphire crystal with something very hard, a diamond for instance. I suspect it has either been marked with a diamond ring or its not sapphire.
  8. I have not had much luck either, Ruby does not do it and TWP said he would and never got back to me. Don't we suppose I can expect dealers to waste a lot of time hunting down spares but it would be great if a dealer offered this service.
  9. Well done, not easily beaten are you I think I might have given up somewhere along that road.
  10. Certainly a more reasonable price, it would be interesting to see the Hublot experts opinion of this offering.
  11. I have an Omega SMP, the old one with the pins in the braclet. I was never happy with the pearl, always thought it just looked wrong so the other night I decided to make one. There is a cracking old post over at replica collector linked to By-tor's excellent "Complete OMEGA Seamaster "Bond" Modding/Adjustment Guide", what would we do without him. So tools in hand headed of to the garage to see what we could do. http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...0&hl=pearls Ok, not perfect by any streach of the imagination but I learned a fair bit from the experience and will have another go when I have more time in a couple of weeks. Its way too tall but it acually looks pretty good on the wrist. Another dozen or so cack handed attempts and I might get someting that looks half way genuine, I could buy one but wheres the fun in that?
  12. Very smart, beautiful watch, beautifully photographed.
  13. At the moment I have, ETA Upo ETA Smp (old one with pins in bracelt) Tag link Chrono (Blue) Breitling Seawolf (First version, with gen dial) DSN Ultimate Fiddy Breitling SFSO (White dial Asian) PAM Vintage Californial Dial and an electric blue Eta Smp on the way. I will probably add an Omega Smp chrono and a Bce graphite dial, maybe even another steelfish, this time ETA with blue or black dial.
  14. Moneybookers is an excellent method of payment, safer than paypal for a seller, pp always seem to find in favour of the buyer if there is a problem, leaving the crazy situation where someone can buy from you then claim back there cash.
  15. Good info there ajoesmith, thanks for that.
  16. Great idea. I could not get it to work until I typed in my home town, seems obvious but if you are struggling try that.

    Enjoy!

Fantastic song, thanks for that. I must confess I had never heard of it before Shrek
  18. Tag link chrono Hulot Big Bang Panerai 029 ?
  19. Great watches, Heres mine. and on a rubber strap.
  20. I would remove the braclet and use a ball of tape or a suction cup in the palm of your hand to try to unscrew it. Should work if its not too tight. Good luck
  21. Some good advice there, I would add that the best glue in the world wont hold if the surface is poorly prepaired. Its worth making sure you have thoroughly cleaned the mating surfaces and even gently "keying" the surfaces with fine wet and dry paper. This gives the glue or epoxy the best chance of taking a good strong grip. Good luck with it.
  22. Great work The Zigmeister, thank you for time and effort you put in to these.
  23. I haven't looked at the 5th gen for a long time but from memory, the 4th gen logo was a little low and the wrong shape, the 5 gen logo was a shade high and still the wrong shape (feet curl up instead of flat) Its possible I have missed a version of this watch and could be wrong so it would be wise to have a search yourself. Good luck with your project.
