Not sure how much you want to spend, but these are available used for a pretty good price. I've seen them from reputable sellers on ebay for around $1500 and up. If you were planning on putting genuine parts on a rep of this you could spend half of that putting together a franken that would never be worth what you put in to it.

The early 1675 had a 1565 gmt movement in it, but the movement was marked 1560, just like the 1575 gmt is marked 1570. Your movement may be totally legit.

It looks like the case back has some serious corrosion, I'd be worried about possible water intrusion. If the price is right you could always send it out to Rolex for a service and have the caseback replaced.

My first guess would be a Tropic 12. If you can post the model number I'll see if it's listed in any of my reference materials to be sure.

@Physher007 , check out pearlparadise.com, they have some great prices on chinese sourced cultured freshwater pearls. The quality is unbelievable for the price. They are totally legit, great service, no hassle returns. I've made multiple purchases and been pleased every time. Great folks to deal with!

I stumbled on this thing while perusing Ebay today. Check it out Ebay "Rolex"

Very sketchy indeed! I hate to see someone get taken for $1K+ for a bogus case.

I ordered a few years ago and it took less than a week.
Same here, I'm on the east coast and the order got here fast!!!

Thanks for sharing the link. That's awesome. I've been waiting for a correct strap for some time, gotta get one of these.

Looking good! As others have mentioned the case looks a bit too new, but otherwise pretty damn good. Hope you enjoy it.

Hilarious! Thanks for sharing.

I bought my Explorer dial from Josh. He has a spot in the dealers section here. I think I paid $40USD, shipped, for it. You can find his contact info in his dealer section. You can get the hands on fleabay from Clarks for like $15, or from JulesBorel.com. If you are using a rep case it should be a simple switch of dial and hands. Good luck.

The 5 designates a date function. I think they all are engraved as 1570 whether they have a date or not. The GMT function takes some extra parts. I have a diagram somewhere if you're serious about trying to convert one. I was planning on doing this til I found a 1575 GMT movement at a decent price. If memory serves, it requires a 24 hour wheel, a higher hour wheel, higher cannon pinion and a taller seconds pin (or whatever it's called). If your movement already has a date I think that your about half way there.

Well we'll see. The 3035 and Sean case are on their way. I'll report back when it comes time to fit everything together.
Please do let us know how this pans out!

Yes that looks like the case I need to complete the project. How do I buy it? It looks like only a picture hosting site.

I'm slowely trying to build up a gen franken 16613. I already have all the gold parts covered. The case, movement and dial are all thats left. I know thats like the whole watch but it seems the case will be about the only thing that is hard to find.
What is this "sean" case you are refering to?

If you press the retaining ring over the crystal, you will break it.
You have to grind down the inner circumfrance of the retaining ring, until the ring fits down aprox 1/2 way down the side of the crystal. This will leave just enough tension to secure it, but not too much that it will crack the crystal.
If I were to guess, right now you can just barely fit the retaining ring on the crystal...

@Mike, sorry for the bad advice.
@The Zigmeister, is the ID of the WM9 smaller than a genuine retainer? I was assuming that they were 1:1 as advertised. I commented based on installing genuine bezels on genuine cases with aftermarket crystal and gasket. Working with replica parts really is a crapshoot isn't it, even if they are supposed to be constructed to genuine dimensions.
-
Should be tight with a new gasket. Fit the gasket on the crystal, then on the case and press on the retaining ring with your press.

That case looks like it's in great shape. Best of luck with the auction!
