I've been trying to source thinner spring bars that will extend into drilled lugholes, to avoid problems with all these aftermarket bands. I ordered a pair of these in 20mm and 22mm. Single shoulder, 1.8 mm thick. I'll let you know how it goes!

That's the site that led me here! I bought a Tag Monaco rep from them, lured by the gen photos. What I received did not match, to say the least, and returning the watch seemed like more hassle than it was worth.

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm pretty new to rep collecting, and came across this site doing research after getting burned on a cheap faux chronograph. They sent me the wrong model (if they ever had it in stock!), but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. I got a rep Rolex Datejust from my brother several years ago and I wore it for several years before switching to a quartz, but I'm starting to feel the bug again. There's so much great info here, and I just wanted to say thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experiences.

All the great photos of the red 1680 have really gotten my attention. I'm new to reps (stumbled across the forum after being burned on a cheapie faux chrono), and I'm trying to soak in as much info as I can. Thanks to everyone here for being so generous with their knowledge. So, where can I start with a 1680? Just wondering what the best value is "out of the box" and might also allow me to upgrade it over time. I am leaning towards the 3rd "top grade" because it's supposed to be 1:1 and cheaper than MBK. Anyone have any experience with these, and what sort of mods should I consider?
