Old timer here... how about all those old reps? ;-)
Whatever123 replied to Whatever123's topic in General Discussion
Thank you for your answers. Yeah you're right of course, my question was a bit general... I will take some photos of my remaining reps and I will definitely need your help to identify them as I forgot almost everything lol. I only remember they were expensive and good around 10 years ago. 😉 -

Hey guys, some of you may still know me, I once was a pretty active member here and I also bought and sold about 50 reps in a couple of years in this hobby. Well at some point I wasn't really interested anymore... dived deep into my other hobby photography, bought an Apple Watch... (yeah I know lol). I haven't been online here for around 9 years I think. Now of course I know absolutely nothing anymore about the rep market. I do have some nice old models though that were bangers when I bought them and I wonder if they still have some value now. For example the original Noob GMT Master II, the IWC Ingy from around 12 years back, the Submariner that was hyped so much... I don't even know where it was from anymore, I'll have to check old emails, maybe I find something. So does it still make sense to sell those old models, or is everything much better now? Cheers W. -
Looking good! And charging for sales is exactly the right way imo...

Hi RWG ;-) I don't know, somehow I just lost interest... still lurking here from time to time though. And I still have a couple of reps I am wearing regularly. Cheers W.

Noob GMT II today. A real classic! :-)

A gen GMT Master II and a gen Breitling Navitimer. Damn, I really shouldn't have sold them... :-( As for reps... yes, the 1680 build by fxrAndy. That one was really nice! Ah well...

Very nice collection! 1939/1940... wow! Balvenie Double Wood for me today. Love it!

Could this be a genuine Submariner Maxi dial?

That helps, thanks. Now I can see the differences. Still - in person and without a loupe I wouldn't be able to tell. Maybe my eyes are bad indeed... -

First of all: Thanks. And yes, I'm pretty sure it's a rep too. But sloppy lume? No, that might just be the photo angle. The ft is wrong and the 6 and 9 markers are to thick? Hmm... really? The gens I see in photos look pretty much the same to me... well, probably slightly too thick on the markers... It's supposed to be a 16610LV (with black insert) btw. -
Hi there, could this be a genuine Rolex dial? Experts, please chime in... I will give you more details later, but right now I would just like to have the opinion of our Rolex experts here. Thanks! Whatever123

Oh, we found a couple of wonderful restaurants there. But I agree, 3-4 days is enough. There's a lot more to do and see around Lake Garda. Especially the villages are a lot nicer there - Malcesine, Torri del Benaco, Garda... very nice places.

Ah, nice one. Varenna. Photo taken from the castle above, right?

Haha... OK, I was there as well a couple of weeks ago. The ferry was a giveaway. ;-)

Hmmm... difficult. Could be one of the lakes in northern Italy though... Lake Como?

That looks amazing! How does that Caja China work - the coal sits on top? -
Correct mate! Have you been there yourself?

Nope. Not even Switzerland...

Shipping a watch from EU to US , any suggestions?
Whatever123 replied to toi's topic in General Discussion
Tough one... I don't think any of the big parcel services offers full insurance for a 2K watch. DHL and UPS are both limited to 500 EUR (for watches) and still quite expensive from Germany to US. I think I'd go for UPS and live with the insurance gap... no risk, no fun! The cheapest way is a registered letter with excess insurance - but I'm pretty sure it is also limited to 500 EUR. -
Macallan 25... that's a nice one indeed! Highland Park 12 yo for me today.

Sorry to hear that, Mark... Stay positive! You will find a new job and it might even be better than the last. Who knows?

I see, Ust-Kamenogorsk obviously was the old name of the hotel. And according to the pictures I found you're very lucky to be in the "new" version...

shitty river, lol... Mate, that's a long way from home!
