  1. Great review, thx! How are your bezel numbers aligned? Are the 60, 240, 120 and 80 perfectly aligned with the triangular markers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock? The 240 is about 0,2mm off on my watch, the others are perfect. I looked around for gen pics and found several where the 120 marker seems to be a bit misaligned. Strangely, it's always the 120 on the gens. Cheers, W.
  2. Me too... Using tapatalk on my iPhone atm.
  3. Hi mac, don't worry, the watch is great, I love it! I didn't want to complain at all. The watch is almost perfect, the crooked cyclops is a very small flaw. It's a rep after all, they're never perfect! Thanks again! Cheers, Whatever
  4. You're right, the problem is, they don't know the market. But it's common sense to get at least a bit informed before you buy something like a rep watch from a market dealer, or isn't it? It's a huge difference if you buy a rep for $40 or 150 euros, which is obviously totally overprized. But each to their own, doesn't mean you can't be happy with a buy, even if you paid way too much for it. Sure you can. I also had another experience on one of those markets: An old American lady approached one of the rep dealers and looked at a "bling bling" breitling rep. The dealer announced his 150 euros and the old lady answered "Look, I come here every year and I always buy a Breitling. For 10 years now. I never paid more than 40 euros." Everyone around had heard that of course and suddenly there was quite a lot of interest in the dealer's watches... He finally sold the Breitling for 40 euros - and I believe his show was over for the day. Cheers, Whatever. P.S.: I like your avatar...
  5. The selling prices your dealer announced doesn't seem way too high for me. If that's his first offer, he will surely expect some haggling. In the mediterranen countries, the "beach ADs" (...) usually start with 120 to 150 euros for absolutely crappy reps that probably cost them about 10. I once offered 35 after his initial "150" and he looked at me like I was totally stupid... "It's automatic!"... oh, really? Gosh! Then he followed me around the market about half an hour, always reducing the price... 100... 80... 60... OK, come on, 50.... finally after half an hour: OK, OK, 35, you got it. Haha, so he's still making profit at 35, that's for sure. Dunno how many stupid tourists buy those crappy reps for 150 euros...
  6. OK, I've done a bit of consolidation... sold a couple, bought a new one (the sub), traded my UPO against a 42mm PO. I'm now left with the following reps: - WM9 V2 sub - GMT IIc - Little Hero PAM 111i - Tag Heuer Carrera - SMP 300 (Bond model) I'm pretty happy with those 5 and won't buy another one for some time. Instead I'm planning some upgrades for the existing ones (AR for the PO, new bezel and bracelet-endlinks for the SMP (maybe AR, too), the GMT IIc needs a date wheel fix, maybe the sub will need a cyclops fix...). So this will keep me occupied and I dont have to buy another watch! Cheers, Whatever Edit: Ups, I forgot the 42mm PO, because I haven't received it yet... so it's 6 reps than. So what...
  7. Thanks, ubi! I managed to rotate the crystal by about 1mm clockwise. I think it looks much better now, although it's still not perfect. Still a bit askew, but that last bit can only be changed by re-positioning the cyclops or getting a new crystal. I think I'll live with it for now... Cheers, Whatever
  8. Hi there, the datewheel in my GMT IIc has a litlle "play" in it - I don't know how to describe it better. It turns all right, but when I move the watch, the datewheel moves with it, about 1mm or so, but it's enough to make it look pretty misaligned. If I give ithe watch a push in the other direction, the date looks OK again until I give it another push in the opposite direction... So what's the problem and how can it be fixed? Thanks for your advice, Whatever
  9. Yes, it's supposed to be BK's V2 (M-serial).
  10. Hi! No, I'm not sure, because I bought the watch from another member. But I have no reason not to trust him. Can you judge from pics if it's the BK version or not? Here are some more pics: And I just searched the crystal with a loupe... definitely no etched crown! W.
  11. Hi ubi, thanks for the answer! Unfortunately the crystal has no crown etch. It's the BK version, I believe he uses Clark crystals, right? I don't think, adjusting the crystal will help, the angle doesn't look like that. I guess I'll better send the watch to Domi... but as it's sure a lot more work to realign the cyclops, it might make sense to buy a new clark crystal (they go for 23$ on the bay) and have Domi install it... I read somewhere here that a 2,5mm gasket would be right for the clark crystal - but the auctions now say he can supply only 3mm and 2,7mm. So 2,7mm will work too, or won't it? Thanks, Whatever
  12. Hi there, I just noticed, the cyclops on my new WM9 sub is slightly crooked. It's not much, looks even worse on the pic than in person - but still it nags me a bit, now that I've noticed it... So, what can I do? Take it off and re-glue it with UV adhesive? Ist that possible? Buy a new clark crystal with 2,7mm gasket? May be crooked again or even worse... Buy a gen crystal? Too expensive, I think... Cheers, Whatever
  13. OK, here are some more pics ... I'm afraid it's a bit dark here atm so they aren't very good.
  14. Thx! I'll try to post some more pics tomorrow. The engraving is really very good! Cheers, Whatever
  15. Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open! :-) It's an M-serial model btw - they are supposed to have the rehaut engraving, right?
  16. Thanks, guys! I thought so... so I won't buy a gen insert for now. Let's wait until I've got the first scratches in mine... Cheers, W.
  17. Hi there, first of all: I am by no means a Rolex expert. Just received my first Rollie rep (a WM9 V2 sub) and I was wondering about getting a gen bezel insert + pearl for it. The previous owner has replaced the pearl with one from ofrei - actually I think it looks quite good, but maybe still a bit off compared to the gen. As I said, I'm not an expert, so I'd like to have your opinions on this pearl. Is it good or bad? Ist it worth buying a gen bezel insert? I take it, they fit the WM9 V2 without probs? Thanks, Whatever
  18. Can you turn it or is it stuck? If it's stuck, it's probably glued to the case.... If not, try losening the bezel with a screwdriver but do it repeatedly in different areas. Eventually the bezel should pop off... Warming it with a hairdryer could also help.
  19. Thanks, but "Member Title" is not available there as an option...
  20. Hi there, is it possible? "This just keeps on getting better..." is defaulted for me. Thanks, Whatever
  21. Hi! Personally I wouldn't bother swapping the movement. It's a closed caseback after all. Lume is a good thing to do, though. And I always thought the AR was a bit too blueish on that model, so maybe AR would be a good improvement, too. Cheers, Whatever P.S.: I once asked Domi about reluming a PAM - he said he'll have to look at it first. So it seems, in general he does lume jobs.
  22. Huh? Didn't say so. Just 2 small scratches on the bezel between 55 and 5, that's all the ad said. Wouldn't have bothered me... but unfortunately I sold my U1 some time ago. I I paid significantly more for a gen SDR bezel...
  23. Gone... A bargain at 70 euros. They retail for 200...
