  1. Hi Riccardorolex, You will notice that the hand colour looks almost grey out of the box. A new hand set from TC will be much whiter and many members report that the lume matches very well as well.
  2. Thanks for the responses guys. I will check the dealers sales conditions and drop them a line.
  3. Hi there, Back in October I bought a watch through one of our Trusted Dealers who sent through QC pictures etc which were fine. Unfortunately the watch was dead on arrival so the dealer told me to send the watch back, gave me the address in both English and Chinese to use and advised me to only cover the watch for $20 USD and have it noted as a gift. I returned the watch 7 weeks ago and for the last 5 weeks the tracking information tells me that it is in Beijing awaiting delivery. I contacted the dealer who said that it usually takes only 5 weeks from the UK but as he is in Guangzhou and the watch is in Beijing there is nothing he can do. I contacted Royal Mail who said they cannot get any further information and that I could start the claims procedure! In your experience is this watch now lost and unlikely to arrive? If it doesn't arrive in the next few weeks should I expect to write this off? Any advice would be welcome.
  4. Thanks for the quick responses guys. My watch has a display caseback so I'm wanting an engraved movement, but will probably go asian. I'm just about to start a project watch though and am happy with a sterile movement for that as it will be a closed caseback.
  5. Unfortunately I need to replace the broken movement in my 177G (6497) Do any of the dealers sell these individually? Also many have said the Asian movements are just as reliable as the Swiss movements. If this is the case, why do we pay extra for the swiss version, is the finish better? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  6. Hi Edwin, I had one on of these TT Subs which the dealer was also selling on CQ Out. The above comments are spot on. The maxi dial markers are not correct. The dial/bezel insert is a little darker than it looks in the pictures but still not exactly like the gen. The CG's aren't perfect but are closer than many other reps. The gold plating is excellent on this watch though with a colour very close to the gen. Unfortunately the faults were something that I couldn't live with so I sold the watch on.
  7. I'm not searching for the perfect rep but when you know the dial isn't right you tend to notice it every day :-) Perhaps I may sell the watch on and buy a new rep with more accurate dial and then do the crown and tube mod on that. I've contacted Cousins who do sell the ETA 2836 stems for £1.50 ($2.80) for 3 plus VAT and postage. Very reasonable I think. Thanks for the great responses guys.
  8. Guys, I was pointed in this direction from a UK forum and am already addicted!! The tutorials here have been so informative and helpful that I now have the confidence to mod my own rep. I'm currently modding my TT Blue Submariner and am in the process of swaping out the Crown and Tube. The stem is looking a bit worse for wear and wondered if anyone knows where I can get replacement stems for the ETA 2836-2 movement? I have already changed the bezel insert but have never been 100% happy with the dial on my TT (the m's don't line up). I'm also looking for opinions as to who provides the best looking dial for the TT Blue as this is the next mod on my list. Many thanks
