Second: remenber that it is a also a Porsche design in competition:

You can vote or not. It is not a problem. But you must acept the rules: if not, what we have now: there are plenty of PAMs and Rolex. I can not understand why some people is against IWC. I will buy the cousteau version, but, this year were 4 good IWCs and all the people saying "another IWC" or another "TAG". How many good Tags are? One, the link. And the people love it. The IWC GST and the Engineur are also two loved ones. It is easy. I like the aquatimers a lot.

I personally voted the Paul Picot, because it is anew brand, it is beatuful watch, different dial, even when it "fights" against my Porsche. I will buy the Paul Picot (the only thing I do not like it is a 7750 reformed to be a 7753)

TTK is correct: a lot of people have no idea what their asking, as TTK show us many times, many people has no idea what they are buying, and them go to the dealers making trouble. But this kind of actions, as the one from DT, helps the people. For example, to know different brands and whatches. I really like a lot of them. And I voted positive to most of them.

  2. Pug, I am not sure.

In one of the november issue of Chronos in Germany, was an interview with the CEO of IWC, about the Porsche watches. As I understand, IWC makes the automatic (lets say high horology) and Eterna made the "low" watches (quarzs, etc).

I am now on holidays in Spain, but when I return, I can give you more info.

    Happy Xmas

  3. Just to remenber: the 2 of January will be decided what watch will make by Jay. Look at this beauty, totally 1:1 rep, 7750b1, IWC cuore (yes, the design is Porsche, but the engineering is IWC).

    More Info:

The predecessors to today’s Flat Six motors were air-cooled. The unmistakable wiper rings on its pistons were one of the characteristic features of these ma-chines. The Flat Six watch from Porsche Design uses these rings as a design element on the flanks of the case. Together with the rotor for automatic winding in the design of Porsche alloy wheels on the movement, the ring design creates a further reference to the Porsche 911. The watchmaking innovation in the tradi-tional and concise Porsche Design typography is carried over to the watch face and bezel with its tachymeter scale to measure velocity. The Flat Six makes a statement not least because of its large 44.5 mm case.

A further feature of the Flat Six Automatic Chronograph is the triangular indicator of the running seconds hand. Just a short glance is enough to check whether the watch is running. The red-marked tips on the counter and seconds hands are ad-ditional functional aids. The ergonomically shaped buttons for start-stop and reset functions integrated into the case provide practical operating assistance for the use of the water-resistant chronograph underwater up to a diving depth of 120 meters. The crown itself is also integrated into the case and thus well protected against impacts.

The Flat Six is available as the Flat Six P’6340 Automatic Chronograph with a me-chanical chronograph movement, Flat Six P’6320 Quartz Chronograph with Rattrapante function (fly-back hand) and tenth of a second measurement, or Flat Six P’6310 Automatic and thus as traditional men’s watch with mechanical auto-matic winding. The P’6340 Flat Six Automatic Chronograph comes with an individual test certificate from the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) in La Chaux de Fonds.

The Flat Six models supplement the three existing Porsche Design watch lines Indicator, Dashboard and Heritage. The watch dials are available in four colors: black, silver, titanium and red. The Flat Six is supplied with a satin-finish stainless steel or natural rubber strap with stainless steel folding clasp.

Porsche Design is considered as a global luxury men’s brand and is determined by engineered products. Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche established the Porsche Design brand in 1972, whose products are attracting consumers with their technical innovation and represent functionality and timelessness in its pur-est form.

  4. Hi,

I ruined my "sappire crystal" scratching it.:(

So I would like to change it for a real sapphire one. The watch is a 090 PAM from Andrew. The only way that I have found for a sapphire glass is the Davidsen.

I have three questions: is there an alternative?

I read that the cases of the Davidsen are not the same size that another PAMs, so, can I use it in my 090?

And at last: how complicate is to swap it. I heard everything: from need to buy a press, to make it by owm hands...

thank you for your help. I am really :x with me for scratchinmg my watch!!!

    Sam

    Merry Xmas

  5. I good idea!!! thank for all your effords.

I would say that it would be not allow to sh*t in oder pools: I mean, it would not be allow to start with the typical: "this watch is really silly" or something like this in evry poll. I would say:

1.- every have the hability to open a poll. Just one for watch (for not having double polls with the same watch)

2.- Everyone can vote, but to writte in a poll, just the positives reviews. the others will be deleted. If someone do not want to choose this watch, everyone has the posibility of choose another watch or adds a new one.

    Just some ideas...

  6. I think TTK had some reason, but not all. I would buy 2/3 of these watches. First, but I really like most of them. Second, beacuse it is a good oportunity to start a good comunication direct with the people that make the watches more or less for us (most of the people would never buy a rep watch for 200 €).

But TTk makes a good point: too many people thinking, it is normally a problem.

  7. I think it is a problem with the poll. Actually shows:

    Divers Watch - Blancpain 50 Fathoms [ 5 ] [3.88%]

    Divers Watch - GP Sea Hawk [ 40 ] [31.01%]

    Divers Watch - Iwc Aquatimer [ 18 ] [13.95%]

    Divers Watch - Chopard [ 7 ] [5.43%]

    Chronograph Swiss 7750 - Brequet [ 9 ] [6.98%]

    Chronograph Swiss 7750 - Ebel [ 29 ] [22.48%]

    Chronograph Swiss 7750 - Tiffany [ 3 ] [2.33%]

    Dress and Other Mentions - Lange [ 13 ] [10.08%]

    Dress and Other Mentions - Zenith [ 5 ] [3.88%]

I personally choosed the Ebel, but I will go with the Blacpain, the IWC, the Chopard or any of the Chronos. Evel I will think the Lange (I like Zenith a lot, but not this model). If the chance is just to vote one, the results are a problem. I would like to vote (just once per watch) to everyone you like. I am sure, that if the Ebel comes, more people will be on it (for example), as the actual number in the pool shows. Sorry for the people of the GP, but I think Jay would not sell a lot of them, even if they win this pool.

  8. Also on a side note,... Eddie is creating a surprise Chrono for us that is bound to get some people

pretty excited,.... :Jumpy: Expect his release in about three weeks,..

He will also accept a group buy for it.... :D

    Navi Chrono??? :Jumpy::Jumpy::Jumpy: Hope so.

You are right Richard. If this new system of "a la carte" works, there will be new times in the rep world. It will be really good for us, for the dealers and for the factories, that will have a direct link to their customers...

  9. The AP you are sowing is a repetition. One of the most complicates functions in a watch. An extrem expensive. i am not talking about the colour (I do not like it also).

There is a problem always in the rep world: you only like the case, but not the mechanic.

Ah, this yellow AP could go fantastic with some ferrari or bugatti (also in the same yellow9 :)

  10. Well, being honest, in many lands of Europa, the Rolex is just for snobs, not for very richt people. It is what we cal a "I want, but I can´t". Here you see always Rolex, it is clear, but in a really good jewerlly, they have a normal position. If you go to Wempe (here in stuttgart) rolex or Omega do not have a priority position.

As most of the watch makers are in Europa, there is another sensibility with watches (for most of the people, alaso here in EU is the same an IWC than a Festina, they do not see the difference between a quarz and a mechanical). I mean, the people that know about watches (and have the money), will go with Glashutte, A. Lange und Sönne, etc (even they are not swiss watches), Breget, etc.

It will be funny to see, in the rep forums, how many EU members buy IWC, and how many in the USA. I think we will have a surprise.

I think it is also diffrent mentallity about what is wealthy in EU and in EEUU. Different sensibilities.
