  1. I think any mass produced watch suffers from this to a certain degree. I remember having to take apart my gen Seamaster divers extension and correct the tension of the "V" split as the damn thing kept popping open every time I put the watch on (found out how to do this on the Omega forums as other gen owners had the same QC issue).

Inline with your observation, the owner of a genuine watch has no reason (generally) to scrutinize his piece for inconsistencies with other genuine examples, while the rep owner is beleaguered by the prospect that his copy may have even the slightest of tells.

Good eye and thanks for sharing.

  2. Paneristi, get tied into that community, lots of great PAM trading going on over there.

Side note: Of course we never talk reps on paneristi, but I always get a kick out of discovering bleed over membership (when the same straps for sale on the rep boards are also for sale on paneristi, I discover new friends).

  3. As it's a real chore to take my phone out of my pocket every time I want to check a text, email, etc I find myself wondering how I would go about wearing an iWatch or similar.

My best guess is mechanical watch goes destro and iWatch goes on the left wrist (I am right handed).

I will let you all know if this happens ;)

OP hang in there you are bound to run into a proper WIS at some point or other.

    Cheers!

  4. Thinking of taking the plunge myself and found your thread very useful, thank you.

As another member mentioned earlier in the thread, I also find the bracelet and clasp to be meh for this reference.

Anyone want to offer up an opinion about putting a 16520 on leather?

Cheers and congratulations on a great build.

  5. Damn I thought the Yachty II was kind of dope.

To be frank every time I try to get into vintage Rolex I get turned off by the lightweight bracelet and tuna can clasp.

The updates described by the OP do not bother me so much, but then again I have only been collecting watches for 5 short years. I did not grow up on the vintage models, so to speak.

  6. Gents I've just purchased a TC based franken Yachty from m2m on another forum.

My only complaint for this model is the old style clasp (works fine but feels cheap to my hands).

Many gen owners have either the GMT IIc or Milgauss GV clasp installed for this reason.

My question to the OP, how do you like the clasp on the latest noob GMT II? It seems this would be the better way to go (over the Milgauss GV style) as the newer YMs use this clasp.

Congrats on that build, stunner and looks the business.

  7. There is no such thing as a v3 Noob SubC. First of all there is no Noob factory. Second, every v3 is a V2 or worse with maybe one difference other than price...

Interesting, when I buy a Noob factory watch, what am I really buying?

  8. Who wants to guess what group the OP works for?

Curious questions sir, the industry argument against replica collecting is based around the swindling of good intentioned customers.

You can imagine the wrinkle lines when rep collectors use their free time to warn others of said fraud...

My friend, you want it to be one way, but it's the other way.

    Cheers
