  1. Damn Pete I just got schooled and yet I have no idea what I just read. Cheers mate, will be listening in on this thread...
  2. For sure my friend, pick up a used TT sub from a trusted member on this forum. The quality control you get from a fellow member is often better than the QC when buying the piece new.
  3. I just pulled a like new Panerai OEM Monte Carlo strap 24/22 for $100 from Panaristi. Great community of PAM owners and the accessory trade area is laden with all manner of quality straps. I've discovered over the years that I'm better off laying out $70-150 for one nice strap than scooping up two or three rep straps. Cheers, link below. http://www.network54.com/Forum/353393/
  4. Longtime member who just got his first 2836 GMT. Had given up setting the GMT hand until I came across this post, now I'm all set (pun intended). Cheers!
  5. Still down for me, Washington DC area.
  6. It's the 187 on the undercover cop.
  7. Hang in there Mike, we all support you. If it is of any help you may push my repair to the back of the line. Please do reach out just so I know we're in step. A Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  8. It seems Mike's good reputation finally caught up with him. He is buried in work and receiving too many PMs a day to keep up. Anyone spoken with him since this thread sank? Resurrecting.
  9. Thats pretty damn resourceful though, fine work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  10. Bought a 2.0 Diver fully modded (double AR, relume dial & bezel, sunken screws) from another trusted member last month and I concur, amazing wristwatch. I understand the 3.5 is more accurate though this little 2.0 sings. Colorless AR on the crystal is a must. The dial pops and the watch has received many a compliment. Congratulations on a great purchase! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  11. Ended up pulling the trigger on a v2.0 Diver the other day. I am blown away by the quality. The piece I have is from another trusted member, mods are relumed, rebrushed bezel, recessed bezel screws, colorless double AR on crystal. I understand the gen may not have double AR on the crystal, but man it really lets the dial pop. The build quality, fit and finish are excellent. Can the build quality on the 3.5 be that much better?
  12. Yeah $3k is a healthy price tag when most Vintage VDB are $1k+
  13. I guess this thread is a bust. Sorry for the noise gents...
  14. Has anyone ever held a VDB Chrono? Bronze and carbon fiber nod to an AP, looks really nice to me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  15. Welcome Adam! As a daily PAM wearer who's flipped through a few Sea Dwellers in the past I am also curious about this. It seems like I would need about a grand to play the AP game nicely (nice aftermarket strap, movement serviced and modded for reliability). Are they worth it? I should prob head on down to my local AP AD and find out... A few pics to get this thread popping... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  16. 6'2" with 7.5" wrist - personally I wish there was one size larger so I could wear a PAM that looked unGodly huge on my wrist...
  17. This is an old thread, one i have read many times before, but I just wanted to say, "Damn, nice watch."
  18. Dang Mellons you all really took that case to task. Nice work all around
  19. Stormtrooper just took me to school. "...enjoy them for what they are and not [for] what they're not." The more reps I snap up the more I look for a well built timepiece over 1:1 detail execution. I've lost some money on some frankens and "Asian pixie" builds over the last year and have really started to appreciate the stuff coming out of the H/N factories. It's likely DSN will deliver you a timepiece appropriate to the amount of money you give him. What is it about the 114 that grabs your fancy? -Ajax
  20. It's really sweet looking! In mind it can be worn clubbing, in the summer time with linen, or by the misses.
  21. Heck of a replica for sure! I'm wondering if the space between the crown and case is too large on the Noob 111. On my H factory 026 the crown rests right up against the case. Any thoughts on this?
  22. Vandal makes a good point. If your rep gets caught by a customs agent (or anyone other than a rep enthusiast) you are doing something wrong.
  23. If you could somehow get it up and working you could place a call to your carrier and ad insurance. I guess...
  24. As someone who travels regularly with small amounts of marijuana I can tell you a wristwatch is the absolute last thing to worry about. Especially because the piece on your wrist is genuine, right? Damn those counterfeiters!
