Thanks alot,this was just the kind of information I was looking for. I know trimming the crownguards is necessary which is why I figured I would try and do things right with a genuine crown while I have it apart anyway. I would have never thought of an aftermarket tube, thanks for that if it comes to that. I'm gonna go ahead and try and purchase just a crown and see if I can make due with that for now.

So I'm a bit of a noob and just got my caseback opener. Just wondering if there is anything I should know from others that have done this as I'm not really sure exactly what to expect as far as how it will fit and all.

Yea it's just a Submariner 16610. This seems like a pretty good idea to get the gen. I'm gonna keep an eye out for a gen. On a side note, there is a wm9 insert available here, that wouldn't be any better right?

I found one of the older threads listing good sources for accurate bezel inserts but most of them are no longer in existance. I'm looking for a standard ss one for my noob. Where are you guys getting your bezel inserts these days?

Any options for a higher quality/heavier bracelet all together for us noob owners?

I just got a "Beginmariner" which I think from my limited knowledge is the same but feel free to correct me. I feel the bracelet isn't so great and kind of light. Whose got the best replacement?

Yea sorry its a 16610. I'll check around for a noob braclet. I would put on a bracelet with no emblems but I'm not sure about one with a non rolex emblem. Just my taste though. Thanks.

So I have an extra blue ceramic bezel. Decided to throw it on my blue canal st. junk lol. For those of you that don't know the ceramic insert is probably about 3 times thicker than the metals ones and it is eating through my sandpaper with not very great results. Suggestions?

So I know that no bracelet will be exactly like a gen but I was just wondering if there are any that are particularly good. Just looking for a standard steel one for a submariner.

So I have a pro-hunter submariner that I bought off someone here awile back. Anyway it looks like they replaced the bezel at some point but did not sand it down enough to fit in properly. It seems it was glued in with something very tough (gorilla glue I'm assuming). I was wondering if there was any good way of getting this bezel out so that I could sand it properly. I dont want to force it out and snap it in half if I don't have to lol. I'll post some pictures if needed but I think it seems pretty self explanitory.
