  1. i was gonna go today but had to bail. Love the 1199. I have a gt1000
  2. Not sure about whatever case you have but with the original mbw case you also had to drill some metal out between the lugs in order for the tube to seat properly. The gen tube has a diagonal edge where it sits in the case and most cases are flat. So drilling that part, as well as the retap, is necessary in order for the tube to screw in all the way and the crown to sit flush with the case.
  3. dial and movement slid right in, no issues whatsoever. everything fits perfect in the mbw polex 5513 case. A gen 1680 dial needs to be shaved in order to fit the mbw but not the 5513/2
  4. Thanks. I have a gen movement, dial, crown/tube, crystal installed in an original mbw case right now but I will probably go with the yuki case
  5. Not that I don't like it so much but I would like a case with a decent serial for the dial and that I wouldn't have to sand a gen insert to fit the bezel
  6. Anyone have one of these that they can give me feedback on? Considering swapping out my mbw case for one and I just want to know if there's anything that's going to require some modding. Thanks guys.
  7. Mbw case only needs to be modded for a 1680 dial, not a 5512-3
  8. Gotta say Ubi's method works great. Didnt spend much time but the case got a real nice polish. Used 800 grit sandpaper, then 1500 grit wet, then a cape cod cloth to finish. crummy photo but just wanted to share for anyone looking to polish their cases.
  9. Nice daivel. On my second Ducati ,GT1000 since my monster got destroyed a few years ago. Ride safe. Protect those watches!!!!
  10. 1560 fit perfectly into the 5513 original mbw case
  11. def not a rep freddy. I took a real long good look and this thing was 100% gen, so unless he built it, which I doubt, because if he did build it, I would assume he would know more about the watch. Unless it was Ubi!!!!
  12. I understand all the points, and I dont care why they buy them, but it does surprise me when its a piece like a 1665. I wouldnt even blink an eye when it comes to 16610 et al, since its so common.
  13. Met a man that worked at the bank this morning and caught a glimpse of a beautiful 1665 on his wrist so I sparked up a convo. Guy was super nice but didn't know [censored] about the incredible watch he had on. Said he just recently got it. Told him I'd buy it off him (yea right, thought maybe he didn't know what he had). Anyway I told him some tricks to getting some scratches out of the crystal and made sure he didn't let rolex swap out any parts on the next service. Really, I wanted to grab it and run
  14. Staying put until I find a case to replace the mbw with
  15. By the looks of the rehaut and outer edge to fit the crystal on, this case is not compatible with gen parts. At least not a gen crystal. I wouldn't try to jam a 1570 in there.
  16. Ahhh a little boy, congrats man. Have 2, a 3 month old and a 2 and half year old. My angels. Was considering the yuki case. Phongs case is a little expensive in my opinion and I really cannot see much of a difference btw his and yuki's I might as well find a gen case if I was to get Phongs. The mbw crown positions a little off. One of my lugholes is a little messed (from having a bit stuck in during drilling) and the bezel, well, it sucks. So far I have a very reasonable about of cash in this watch to not make me think it's a big waste, so I think a good case and gen insert, gonna shoot to stay in the $500 range for the total and I will be content
  17. Boy or a girl Z? Thanks for the good words, love the watch. Def gonna have to get a better case though, the mbw's great, but I would like better
  18. Hells yeah. Congrats and welcome to the club. Two boys, greatest thing to ever happen to me
  19. With the obligatory wrist shot. Just had the movement completely overhauled, took a week, great price. She's running perfecto now. Specs again are: Old mbw 5513 case, drilled lugs, cg's reshaped Gen 1560 movement Gen Dial Gen t19 crystal Gen Crown Gen Tube Aftermarket hands and insert Funny that the watchmaker said (insert heavy russian accent here) - "you know this is not original case, so, do not swin vith it." Great guy, warrantied the movement for a year. Next I will hunt for a better case, so if anyone has a good yuki or ndt case, lemme know.
