  1. i hope you all have a great new year. i have learned so much from my friends here in the past few months, i am forever greatful to the knowledge i have gained. happy new year to all you noobs as well, dont be discouraged by anything here, just have patience, read and learn, we were all noobs at some point best to all in 2007, now, GIV ME YOUR WATCHES!!!!! j
  2. looks nice, but its not gen, the dots are too far out from the center as far as i can tell from looking at my gen insert right now, although the font looks pretty good.
  3. nice chief, congrats, lets see some more shots of that badboy
  4. your welcome. were those taken digitally or with film? and like by-tor says, adjusting the levels can always improve a good pic. personally though, i liked these shots because of the yellow, gave it a nice classic vibe that i havent seen much of here. just a preference
  5. acutally, i think those are damn nice. very classic and old school looking, might wanna take some of the blur down a bit (dont know if that was done with the depth of field of the camera or photoshop) but all and all i really dig em, nice job!!!
  6. thanks bro, i was trying to bend them, just got frustrated and didnt get to pulling out the plyers, what a pain. will give it another go
  7. Been modding a MBW 16610 for another member, and the only real issue i have had is that the bracelet from the noobmariner will not line up with the lugholes on the MBW case. Has anyone had any success with this mod, and what did you do to make the sel's holes line up to those on the case? oh, its a case without lugholes that go all the way through. thanks guys
  8. Franken-16710, which is nowhere near leaving my wrist anytime soon..
  9. hand stack is correct, dial could be better, lazer etched crown is off center some, but its a damn nice piece
  10. very nice job, cg's are a [censored], but very gratifying when done well..
  11. yes chieftang, most of the gmt reps have the wrong stack for the hands, the gens have the hour first, then gmt, then minutes and seconds, this eta has the proper hand stack like the gen which is now easy to get, just something thats overlooked i suppose.
  12. thanks randy/doc arent all the good ones a little hairy at times ;) , lol
  13. thanks bro!!!! now the hunt for the modern explorer II is on.....oh boy, never ends does it
  14. i'm sure it can, wouldnt know to be honest, but if thats the unmodified gmt movement, the hand stack will still be wrong, so i personally wouldnt bother with it. the stack should be hour, gmt, minute, seconds, most of the gmt reps are gmt, hour, minute, seconds, same with most of the explorer II's (which is gonna be my next project) so it's something that can easily give it away. with the modified movement and the parts i used, i would challenge any AD to spotting this one, it came out better then my tw sub this one will never leave my collection, to rare in the rep world, just looking at it on my wrist now and i keep fooling myself
  15. there's a new modified 2836-2 with the proper stack, i got lucky cause last week another member was selling one here in the states, so i got to avoid any customs risk. pretty sure both andrew and josh carry the new modified gmt II, el as well i think, but you'd have to ask him. the problem is, the dial on the rep SUCKS, no way around it, not even close, so you simply must go gen on this dial
  16. Thanks Tribal, so happy to see the 16710 getting such good responses from all the cats on here who's work i admire so much, it really means the world to me :) I couldn't have done it, or wouldnt even know where the hell to begin without the help of you guys. And by the way, if any of you are curious, the date mag is DEAD ON, just looks off from the angle of the photo
  17. Randy, thanks for the words, seriously, you came through big on this one and i am so appreciative of all your help and humbled by yours and everyone elses fantastic creations. Thanks Serg, I do move fast its called obsessive compulsive disorder. lugholes, uch, i hate them with a passssssion. fortunatly this case came with them drilled already, whew... they best thing i ever got for doing lugholes was a small desk vice to hold the case. other then that, ALOT of oil and patience. I actually have more trouble with the bracelets, because the hole made to fit the bars is too tight every time, so i gotta kinda scrape the edges for awhile to get some clearance.
  18. from what i know, and i could be wrong, but in my experience with the explorer, the bezel is glued down, so getting it off might be a bit of a hassle, but it will come off, just like any other, a very thin knife btw the bezela nd the case, and snap that sucker off. clean off whatever glue is there, then re-apply. of course, i might be wrong, but the last explorer II i had, vintage mcqueen style, from andrew, was glued.
  19. thanks so much, thats one of the reasons i wanted it so bad, cause of the unique factor and i worked really hard on getting this one together wrist shots a'comin.
  20. Thanks By-Tor, i knew you would bite at this one the total cost was around $1000, yikes, i know, but it was worth every penny The dial was what really put it over the edge, $400. If you're looking to do one, i can get you the dial, just lemme know!!!!
