  6. Looking for advice here guys. 1. What's a good starting rep for building a frankenGMT? 2. What am i going to need other then a gen insert, etc.... any help would be appreciated, i want to do a modern one with a sapphire crystal, not a vintage.
  7. you helped me out alot buddy, and taught me alot of great things here. always and forever appreciative
  8. had this same problem some time ago, remember Randy? I, unfortunatly lost my patience and hit it with a mallet, lol, big mistake cause it busted the movement harness. got everything sorted out in the end, but it was a messy process. to all you kids out there with yer mbw's, buy a crystal press......they save lives
  9. i'm coming to alaska to wrestle you for that damn watch, jesus, so amazing
  10. thanks, from what i know, the tw classic case needs to be tapped, am i wrong about this? and this is a mod i do not want to do myself if it needs it, i am very compfy with most mods, but i think i'll let someone with experience take a crack at this
  11. i'm impressed, how exaclty to you manage to drill from the inside out???????
  12. I dont want to mess around with this, anyone in nyc with experience doing this? you're help would be greatly appreciated and of course i will compensate you for your work
  13. basically, on alot of the tw classic subs, the lugholes on the case are not centered, they're closer to the outer edge, so if one was to drill the holes to fit the 20mm springbars, there's a good chance that the hole would hit the outermost edge completely, which is just no good. so, a few of us are trying to figure out to redrill these holes more towards the center, basically would have to start the new hole on the flat surface of the current, closer to the center of the lug. the problem is that the 1.3mm bits used to drill these holes arent the most sturdy of drill bits, so the odds of them breaking and damaging the case are likely, so we're trying to figure out how to remedy this problem, i.e. shorter bits, drill press, etc. its a bit of a headache, but i think we can get it done :)
  14. just noticed that concave on the left side of the case as well. odd, never seen that before. the rehaut however looks pretty damn good.
  15. How are we looking guys? has anyone made any progress on this tw classic lughole re-biasiing situation?
  16. right on, and congrats. the good thing about the rep of this model is that you dont have to worry about rehaut issues because the nondate modern subs rehaut is shallower then the date. guy in my office has a gen, and i have compared the 2 side by side.
  17. i dont know much about omegas, but from what i do know, i'm going with GEN....
  18. Please, only people that have actually seen this model in person answer, i am not interested in opinions gathered from photographs. So with that said, i have a few questions about the Modern MBW SeaDweller. 1. Is the case, in your opinion, proper scale, from what i have seen of the gen, it is somewhat thicker then the submarniner. 2. The ever annoying HEV. Can it be removed? or is it just part of the actual case. 3. Is the bezel thickness correct? cause I believe, again from what i have seen, that the bezel on the SD is thicker then the sub. Thats pretty much all I wanted to know. I was at physical therapy this morning and one of the doctors had a gen sd on, and that thing looked niiiiicccce, and i have bought a modern sd from one of our trusted dealers and it just didnt cut the mustard, was just a sub with a hev and no date mag. thanks, any info would be appreciated.
