Well, I have got that watch from Trustytime. I couldn't remember it yesterday as I drank a couple scotchs, but I remember someone called him Paul some time ago.
Anyways, I got that PAM from Trustytime with the new Asia 7753 Movement (no recessed date) and running K Serial. Really nice timepiece, I am really proud of it.

Hello Guys,
I have bought the PAM250 from Paul a couple of months ago and purchased a real croco Strap from Panatime for 50$.
Look how classy this watch looks! I still wear it day by day, and I am really proud of it.
Here we go:
And .. yummy ... the car itself:

I think this dude wants to buy a 251 PAM, and is asking us experts whether this watch is recommendable or not.

Can anyone tell me what's the exact difference between a PreV case and a 005 or example? I can't see any.
-
If its really 1:1 (incl. CG) I will be in too

Just curious, once you have gotten the proper lay out and font what are you going to do with it? Source a new date wheel and print from scratch, create an overlay which has a whole other set of issues with fit and alignment or simply try and redo the one in yours? I will warn you that many people have tried and a very few have ever come up with a good solution other than sourcing date wheels and then reprinting. If the font is really off (I have never seen the rep one in the flesh) you might talk to one of the folks who make after market datewheels - Leo, Taka, etc. Otherwise I fear you are in for a whole lot of hassle. If the date window is not the exact same size as a gen 7753 I wouldn't spend the time. Based on the pictures I have seen the accuracy is somewhere in between the A7750 and a genuine 7753. If it troubles you that much you are probably better off sourcing a daylight with gen 7753 movement. But that is my 2 cents. It is coming from someone with a gen and 7753 frankens though.
Hey Watchmeister, that you very much for you response.
My Idea was to produce thin 0.1mm thick foil overlays the the original DW. Do you think that there is enough space for this?
Another idea would be to mill 0,1 mm off the top of the original DW and put the overlay on it.
Otherwise I would have to CNC own Datewheels and print them ... that will raise production costs trementously though!
-
I tried experimenting a bit.
I know how to design those datewheels now.
All I would need is exact diameters, the font, and the spacing between dates (but this I will get that from the original 7753 DW).
This a first test of my new layouting skills. I know that the spacings between the letters are not yet right. That was just a small test.

There is no correct A7753 date wheel out there yet.
That will have to be done first :-)
Do you have an idea what font that is?
-
Yes, good God that's quite an AD. I have to go out of country to see that kind of display.
No problem I will do that for you guys.
There are at least 3 ADs having loads of Panerai watches in their windows.
Pictures were taken at the Koenigsalle in Duesseldorf, Germany. One of the most luxury shopping streets in the country.
I am taking my Finepix this Weekend and take some pics for ya then.

You have one mate We have seen it on your Panatime
I know I got one, but I'm scared opening the watch and disassembling the movement :-) I don't want to break anything.
Maybe I should get a broken one from somewhere?!?
-
Need the A7753 datewheel though :-)
-
Sorry for opening a new thread, but I want to keep it here.
I would like to ask all of you, if anyone could scan in a A7753 date wheel so I have the exact measurements of it, plus the locations of the numbers?
My Idea would be to print ultra-thin 0,1mm thick aluminium foil overlay stickers, with the correct bold font.
I hope that there is still 0,1mm space left between dial and date wheel?
Anyway, I would like to start with the wheel itself, and then we will have to think about the font.
-
I - specially for you guys - went back to the jeweller today and make a photo.
Sorry for the bad quality, but I took it with my mobile.
One close-up, and one wide-angle-shot
You see how much thicker that date wheel is? Maybe I should produce another one? I have a pad printing machine here, but no A7753 date wheel to copy it, and no idea what font that is.
-
Hey guys,
I was at a jeweller today and compared the gen 250 to my new A7753 250.
They look pretty much the same, except the date wheel.
The gen has a lot larger and bolder numbers than my A7753. Is that problem known yet? Has anyone come up with a solution yet?
The next time I am there I will take a photo of the gen.
Regards.

babola: Thanks for your reply. Is the Rep Crown really spring loaded? I had to pull it out after opening the lever?
-
Thanks everybody.
I hope I didn't damage anything as I already closed the lever this way like 10 times.
-
Sql_pl: Thank you for your reply. Is the genuine ETA 7753 working the same way? Or just our Asian movements?
-
Hi,
I have been playing around with my PAM, and found the following. When I pull the crown, then set the time, and then try to push back the crown by closing the lever, i see that the crown sometimes bends quite lot. Doesn't look O.K., so i was just curious if that's normal how it is, and if I should strictly avoid doing that in the future. (Check out the vid below)
Further: On 12pm the date isn't jumping to the next day immediately. Its changing slowly from around 11 pm on, so during a short period of time I see the half of both dates in the date window. Is it OK? Is the gen working the same way?
Thanks

Thanks, Pete!

Domenico,
Habe meine A7753 pam bekommen. Bietest du auch Service bzw. Reluming dafür an?
Wie hoch wären die Preise
(Just got my A7753 pam. Do you offer service and reluming for that? How much would you charge?)
-
@Pete - Thanks for your reply. Yeah, i would really want to have it serviced after I have worn it for some time, but I don't know anyone in the EU who could do that. Maybe you know someone?
The problem is, if I sent it to The Zigmeister, I could run into customs problems.
Maybe I should transplant the movement to a clean, unbranded watch.

Finally my 250K arrived. I immediately swapped the strap for a gen croco leather strap from panatime, and would like to share my impressions with you.
The watch comes from trusty and is in fantastic condition. It has a perfect looking CG pin, and even the CG itself is - in my humble opinion - close to perfect. In the second picture you see how flush it sits.
At this point: Thank you very much for the fast delivery and for the top notch PAM, Trusty!
Just one little question: Is it normal that the upper chrono pusher has some resistance when starting the chronos?
And - drumroll - here comes my new timepiece:
Cheers

Got it, I squeezed it in! I will do a pictured review of the watch + panatime croc strap in a few minutes!
Thanks for all!

Yeah :-) If I would buy a gen Pam I would probably just get that particular one.
With reps I can get all of my dream watches, and wear every day another one. Also the Quality is superb, the movements are good, and with a nice strap nobody can tell the difference.
This Pam250 just feels so real :-)
