  1. Dont think I wanna open the watch myself. :o

One thing thats interesting, I cant remember if its always been like this or not but:

The dial that you set the time with, it move a little back and forth without moving the dial, do you understand what I mean?

Like a steering wheel on a car, you can move it a little without the car turning. Is that normal?

If i read correctly, the dial moves when you pull/push the crown during setting time? If that is so, you might need to tighten the screws that hold the movement to the case, it has 2 screws and 2 tabs. Its located near the outer ring of the movement. Hope this was your query.

Happened to me once or twice too.

  2. Ok... i just got the blue dial today... the digital pics adds to the darkness of the dial .. as it seems lighter in person... so your all dead on .. wothout the AR it would be sort of flat.... does the white dial look as good as the pics ??? I hope the black is a Deeper colour than the blue..although the more i look at it the more i like it..

and does anyone have a source for the divers (rubber) strap or is that a genuine ?

    thanks,

    lanikai

You might be able to find a gen rubber strap on ebay, or you might like to visit the AD and purchase one. Imho, the rubber strap is more comfortable for me than the ss bracelet.

  3. I have met with Tony personally a couple of times to pick up my reps. He has both entry level and higher priced items. Communication is not an issue. His companion/girlfriend relocated back to China, and Tony stayed on in Singapore as he is holding a regular job here.

From my last communication with them, she is sending the watches out direct to buyers.

Imho, its luck of the draw so I stopped buying from him and became familiar with another dealer over here in my neck of the woods, as I prefer to inspect my reps before I buy them.

  4. You tried it on , what was your feeling? Is it as huge as it looks?

I like it but i'm afraid it could be too big as i'm used to a 42mm PO. :g:

    :)

I have had mine for a couple of years now, extremely rugged, hefty, and runs great. Sits nicely on my 7.5 wrist. The quality and finish is very nice. A great watch to wear for any occasion. It reminds me of a Steelfish in terms of weight. Great value for money. Mine is the ss version. Its a 42mm case size.

  5. Rightly said, Deltatahoe, I agree about Gen issues too.

2 years back I bought a gen Omega SMP, worn it off and on for a month. One fine day, it just stopped after 45mins of activity (was wound enough to run a day) Took it to the AD service center, was told that they would look at it. 2 weeks passed and they finally asked me to collect.

I asked them what was the issue. The guy in the lab coat said, "just routine servicing" I told him the watch was less than 3 months old. He said the watch is now fully serviced. That's helpful. :wounded1:

I should have noticed it the day I bought the watch, the AD manager had to 'swirl' the watch with more effort to get it to start running. Hell, my $160 Seiko diver runs immediately when I pick it up.

Good luck with the Sinn diver, its a beauty! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. Hello All,

I was wondering if our members display their watches on stands in glass cabinets like ADs, would be interesting to see some pics. I'm planning to buy an Ikea glass cabinet for this purpose. I keep my watches in watch cases currently, was thinking of doing it up like the ADs.

Any of our members enjoy displaying their reps in glass cabinets with lights?

Would be great to see some pics.

    Thanks to all!

  7. thanks viper ... but like i said ... it is a mute point now since the crown seems to have broke off the stem.... the 7750 movements have given me the most headaches.. really tempermental animals...so it's back to the dealer .. it's ok though my dealer up and up and will make it right..

but thanks for the input at least i know i don't stand alone and it's not bad watch kharma

Hope it all works out for you, Lanikai. Its not bad watch karma, its part of the game we participate in.

    Cheers!

  8. I remember reading a thread on the 196 ...7750 mvmt.

I just recieved the watch ... out of the box .... it had movement I pulled out the crown to adjust the time and when i pushed it back the watch would not function ... pulled out the crown again and it seems that it broke off the stem.... I am sending it back to the dealer .. but out of curioustiy is this a common problem with this watch or movement? sssurfer had a solution but it is a bit too late for me to ask now since the crown is no longer part of the stem.... :black_eye:

    Feedback please..

My Pam daylight 7750 had an issue whereby I set the time, push the crown in, seconds hand moves, but the minute hands takes a while to get going. I observed it for a while and now whenever I set the time, I will hold the watch and swirl left and right, to get the rotor spinning, even though I have wound the crown up enough to run the watch for a day.

Strange it may seem, but it works for me.

  9. The dial wear doesn't match the case wear. The dial looks like it's been flooded underwater for years and the case looks like you've worn it a dozen times. :) Keep playing with it, I'm sure you'll find something you like. Others have used tea to darken the hands and dial and if you put the care in a container with a bunch of pennies and knock it around and then hit it with a little sandpaper it will look more used. Have fun and let us see how it goes. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

That sounds great, knocking the case around in a container of coins. Thanks for the advice! :victory:
