Not too shabby, Rob

Pretty much same sentiments here, Pete.
The main links on the old bracelet were made to resemble the traditional OP CG design, and boy did they do a good job back then. You don't have to see the watch to which it is attached to know that it's the Panerai bracelet.
The new one could belong to any watch brand, IMO. It's true that it's more streamlined with simpler lines and design features but it lacks the charisma of the old-style one.
This must be one of those examples 'if it ain't broken..."

Pretty bad one mate, I agree with others, steer away...

What about the latest blue Aquaracer 500 guys...just released: Updated Blue TAG AR500
There's also a model with Sellita SW200 mov't, same as genuine AR500 mov't, a bit pricier though: TAG AR500 with gen SW200
Please discuss...

For some reason I keep coming back to this thread...
Awesome, simply awesome!

there's actually an ongoing update in his "T's Genuine Watch Movements" section on RG where he's stating repeatedly since Dec. 2009 that 1.2mm tap T48 in stainless steel is sold out.
Wolfie...I wasn't talking about S/S only. Again, 1.2mm tap is still available in Ti and PVD.
It's like two kids in the playground...
-
The .9 tap ones are readily available in classic non-springloaded, the whole lineup Ti, PVD, SS. The MIA one is the 1.2mm tap.
I'll sell you my PVD and Ti crowns in 1.2mm tap I got recently, if you need one...for a good price
Have you actually checked with Tourby? In my recent conversation with him he had plenty of 1.2mm crowns available. I asked for Ti and PVD ones and received them. I couldn't care less for his old S/S ones due to issues with bevel and over polishing of teeth.
-
No, B, the 1.2 tap has been out of stock for about a year.
Has he got the "hidden stash" somewhere then, I sure got 2 few weeks ago, plus another 2 some 3-4 months ago.
All sorts - PVD, Ti and SS...mind you I haven't ordered an S/S in 1.2mm for a while...
-
Although if you are good with a fine mill hand file you can actually accomplish the same thing but you better be good with a file
So true...steady hand, sharp eye and not too much coffee on the day
-
I thought T still makes his original non-SL crowns in just about all finishes and taps? ...at least that's what I was told during our last chat, no?
-
Are you going to do any more to the CG? I ask because in a couple of shots it looks like it needs some adjustment or is it the crown a bit to far off the case?
Pete, you talking about the bend in the case where the curvature of the corner meets the flat part where the CG feet rest?
That might not be a quick 'fix' without some milling/sanding involved as it appears that the flat part is actually shorter on this case and CG feet overshoot by a fraction of the mm.
I wouldn't worry about it much, it's only visible in macro shots and under a loupe anyway ;-)

Very very nice, mate!
And I concur, that caseset is the bees knees...probably the best type of Ti case ever made in rep form.
Are the hands actually darker than numerals? It coul dbe just the pictures, though.
Awesome one!
-
Uh ohh...that PVD case is just
-
Did you point it out to him and send him photos?...
Many of us, hundreds of times...

The rep strap is complete rubbish but the deployant is excellent. I should of gone with the rubber with the deployant.....
Yup, get the rubber strap on deployant. Than check some of those TWB genuine alligator straps (The Watch Boys) both on eBay and their Web site.
For the money, they're hard to beat...and they make the ones for deployant as well as different lengths.
That failing, go gen Panerai alligator, these are probably the best ones available.
-
Thanx for the update, R!
Let us know once you try the 7750 DW on it in the future, thanks!
Dru...lume on gen 236/250 Daylights is green, both charged and non-charged.
The rep is spot on in that respect. I can confirm that as I compared it to the one at the local AD.

I find running the CG in a single direction about a dozen times on a couple of fine grit papers gives me the grain which I then finish off with Scotch brite.
+1
You speak wisely, mate
Exactly the same technique used in my case.
-
My PAM236 also came like that from Andrew (Trusty), the caseback was unscrewed and holding to the case by it's last bit of thread.
The only explanation I have for this is that the QC person opens them to adjust the timing and bit rate, at least that's what Andrew told me they're supposed to do. He may have gotten sidetracked and didn't screw it up after the last adjustment, who knows. The watch is holding at +/- 10sec/day so the QC guy must have done that bit right at least.
-
Those Boston Watch pads look just like the Maroon coloured 3M ScotchBrite pads, but at 20x the cost. Can anyone verify that they're just cut up 3M pads, or are they actually a different material?
They're pretty much the same as the Scotch Brite pads, Dr.
There are two types available, one for coarser S/S brushed finish, another for finer re-finishing of sanitized Titanium surfaces.
The price?...eye gouging at its worst, mate.
-
Nice one...very clean and sharp.
Make sure you tighten that CG though, the bottom bit appears as almost completely detached from the case.
cheers,
b

...you can...
...you can part with $800+ and still end up unhappy with the result. Or simply go and buy another Pam model, or two for that money.
;-)

I heard there's great 187 and 224 coming out by Cartel...better start saving, eh!?
LOL!

I'll refrain from commenting this time, sorry guys.
Frustration has gotten the best of me.

E, that's a very nice example of a well finished 201/A - congrats!
Help with quality check on crown guard.

Looks good, the lever sticks a little too far out of the CG, but that flat-top CG pin more than makes up for it.
Just be careful with that DW though, there could be the date alignment issue there.
cheers,
