  1. I found one more - the IWC GST Chrono. Any experiences with this particular watch?
  2. Thanks for the answer. Good to hear that the chrono function is working fine. Of course, in the end, I will select the one I like most, but I was aiming at whether there are any other watches (besides Ebel, Tag, IWC) that meet my requirements? JB
  3. Hi guys, any suggestions for a day-date chronograph with tachymeter bezel? I'm considering Ebel Discovery, Tag Heuer Carrera, even IWC 3717 (but this one doesn't have a tachymeter). What would be your recommendation? Wristshots are very welcome. BTW, should I be afraid of using the chrono function on the asian 7750? Thanks, JB
  4. Hi, I'm waiting for UPO (ETA 2824-2) to arrive and I would like to bring it to a watchmaker for a service check right away. Does anyone have a few tips what specific service works should be done to this movement? What needs to be checked, oiled, ...? Thanks, JB
  5. Thanks for the hint. I sent concepta a PM... let's see
  6. After being advised to stay away from the IWC Porto Chrono (my dream watch), what other dress watch would you suggest? Preferences: max 42mm, black or white dial, can be a chrono, pure design. I going to use them maybe twice a month. Here is what I came across so far: Patek - PP10026 Classic Chronograph - with Lemania (manual) A Lange & Sohne - AL10013 Langematik Power reserve - asian 21J auto movement Any thoughts on these two particular? Thanks! JB
  7. Thanks for all the answers! So it's a design problem with the small sec hand, isn't it? And therefore can't be fixed by any other means than gen - that's a big pitty... Any guess how long would the swiss based work (days/months/years)?
  8. Hello, no need to spend too much time on the reasons... :-) But having read all the horror stories on this forum as well as the possible workarounds (DLC, franken, ...) with various degree of success and cost, I was more and more ready to give up. But then I found the following @ watchc.com - basically 3 porto chrono models, but each with a different movement: 1) IWC - IW10036 Portuguese Chrono Auto SS Black Asia 7750 28800bph - I assume this model with the troubled small sec hand @ 6 2) IWC - IWPG10004 Portuguese Chrono SS/LE Black A-7750 New Improved - it says new improved 29J version 3) IWC - IWPG10104 Portuguese Chrono SS/LE Black Swiss 7750 - with Swiss 7750 Valjoux Working Chronograph movement, 25J, 28800bph, Insignia Rotor but at almost tripple price Is there basically any difference between the first and second one? Or in other words, does the second one suffer from the small sec hand issue too? Anyone having a personal experience with the third one - the one with the original 7750 movement? Thank you in advance for all your replies! JB
