Good informative post
Gen buckles also were 1.5mm thick- most of the copies are 2mm
Iir the genesis of the prev are modded verstions of he gen 26mm gpf buckle- they were sewn in but had the ends manually curved in to fit curvature of strap better.
Elias and timeband do really accurate 2mm thick versions of these buckles at the moment- i have a few straps with these and compression-fit lug bars and you can really see why they were used for military timepieces!

finally got build back together today
big thanks to elias who tapped case for athaya tube and got micro-welding done, and also to necky for tidying up welds and re-drilling new lug holes
work completed: existing lug holes micro-welded, new holes drilled and micro-welding additional material around crown tube. Case tapped and has athaya brevet crown and tube installed. I had tried a modded two-piece bezel along with a nightwatch slid thinner caseback- decided on keeping the stock (higher) one-piece bezel and thicker caseback and go for lower dome. Further modding required (more work to crown area + plexi to be lowered slightly). Build has southy gaposis + seagul 6497 from roland kemmner. More work to be done: shorten lug bars, lower plexi and more work to crown area.
revised dimensions as follows: lug-to-lug 54.64mm (wider), 12mm from bottom of dsn caseback to top of bezel, 15.5mm overall height.

Athaya still is around and active- he is a sponsor over on hf and still has ss cases afaik
River also is still active and has 6154 case sets
The other type (not posted) is oyang- these were cery limited and no longer available
The reshped silix case set makes a nice 6154, silix called them 6154. They need a lot of work but can look relly good- nightwatch poated a great one

I wear on both to give to give wrist a rest
If wearing in bed i change from one to the other
Also with lawrger watches (fiddies etc) if a normal (non destro) model frequently i wear on right to keep crown from digging into wrist

just back from the works- i wanted to see how far this case would go (i.e. test to destruction): case is still around!!!
