Hello all, I saw a few really cheap looking Rolex boxes on ebay which are marked as vintage, but just looks like a bad rep to me. Has anyone actually come across GOOD quality rep boxes? I've seen some on aoobuy and also Josh, but not sure of the quality. Thanks.
  2. Hi Modelizer, Sorry, to clarify... Your 3, 6, 9 is also lighter in color compared to other orange markings on your SAME watch? ie the 'Milgauss' text and the 5 sec numerics. Or did you mean your 3, 6, 9 it is actually lighter than the gen as you were able to compare yourself with one. Problem is that the gen in green is very difficult to find anywhere to compare with.
  3. Geez.. no Milgauss owners out there? =)
  4. I just ordered a watch wrench to take the back off of it, so will post pics as soon as I get a chance. Interesting stuff.... It came from Josh too.
  5. I don't expect a perfect sweep as you mentioned your gens clicking, but it should be smooth to some degree at 8 beats per sec. My second hand seems to wobble, so that also adds to the issue with the smoothness. You guys would know better than this noob, so hopefully it'll smooth out when it gets serviced. I just cant justify spending the $ on the service now when it's new. Thanks!
  6. That's interesting, Andy. You're right nothing wrong with it, but like everyone on this board...we're all striving to get as close to gen as possible. So can it be serviced to sweep better?
  7. Can that be repairs or tightened? And if so, then it would sweep smoother?
  8. Hello all, I picked up a Rolex with the asian 2836-2 recently. I decided on it over the swiss ETA based on the recommendations of several people on this forum. i.e. Save the $$$ and swap it out when it breaks down. I picked it up for the high-beat 28,000 which I understand is the same rate as on a gen, but it doesn't sweep as smooth as a gen. Of course, I can't expect it to be 100% as the gen, but I would expect 8 beats to be 8 beats period. Are there some high beats that run smoother than others? My sweeping hand seems to "wobble" so that makes it not sweep smooth. Thanks!
  9. Hello all. I picked up a Milgauss green after reading b16a2's awesome review: I'm looking for other green owners to comment on your copy. The orange hour-markers seem like a peach color. It almost looks like it's faded, but definitely not a solid orange color that I expected. I'm not sure if that has something to do with making it glow blue, but just seems faded like I have a bad copy. Does anyone else see this same issue with theirs? Some of the pics from b16a2's review doesn't look like its solid orange too. And how does the orange look on the gen? Thanks!
  10. I also picked up the black one the same time I picked up my original silver. It was a crap copy but it surprisingly still runs today. When I say crap, I mean the outer bezel doesn't even have the tachy, but it's my beat up watch. Let's hope other silver owners chime in. Thanks.
  11. Hello all, I'm new to RWG and this exciting world. I picked up my first "real" replica (haha)a few days ago and after reading this site. I previously had a "cheapo" Tag Carrera that I picked up in Saigon while on vacation and loved it. Knowing what I know now, I think it was a cheap asian automatics movement, but served me well for a couple years of daily wear until I lost it when the band broke. So I decided to buy a new and improved replica from Josh. Picked up the same Carrera Chrono silver a7750. The mechanics look and feel ok, but the dial seems a little odd to me. The 9 o'clock subdial seems very white against the silver dial. So white that it actually looks odd to me. It actually stands out enough that I wonder why the designers would intentionally make it this way, so I guessed it was a flaw in my rep. This topic was discussed awhile back on the following So I'm curious if anyone has picked up on recently. If so, how does your 9 subdial look? Some of the pics from Colin's review shows it a lighter color, but still in the silver range where as mine looks like a white or cream. Anyone bought one recently? Thanks!
  12. All, I'm definitely behind on the collection as I finally picked up my silver chrono from PT. To the comments earlier on the color of the 9 o'clock dial color for the silver one. Mine actually looks closer to white than it does silver. So much, that it actually stands out again the silver dial background. Does anyone else look white as well?
  13. Older thread, but curious... I just got my green one and it looks great EXCEPT for the orange hour markers. I've heard others state they're "peach" like in color, which seems somehow consistent with mine. However it kinda looks faded to me. As in the paint, but maybe this normal to get the blue glow. Not sure if this faded is what some people are calling peach, but it doesn't look right for whatever reason. Also notice someone mentioned to re-lume the hour markers? Would this address my concern and what does this relume entail? Thanks!
