  1. Congrats on the Hermes. This fragrance really is very special and unique also in the sense that not many rock this fragrance. The longetivity of the perfume is mind blowing and the friendly ingredients and their fusion is just phenomenal. It's like the perfect "special occasion" fragrance. I can name many more new fragrances but I don't want to assist in emptying pockets
  2. La Nuit is also a well made fragrance. Their whole range is pretty damn good. I forgot the name of it but it's the same bottle shape only with some light blue writing. It's a fresher summer scent that blew me away. Happy New Year to you Mike and all the fragrance heads here too. And PhilFree, you seem to have one fine fragrance collection there!
  3. Nice list you have there. Fragrances are like watches, expensive hobby. As for GIT. When I first smelt it I thought meh nothing special. But it then does dry down to something so special and beautiful. Having said that, check out "Surrati Kreed" on Ebay. Also their "Tom Oud", "Tuscan Leather" and "Black Oud". They are oil based reps of the the bigger brand names hinted in the names. Are they good? Effin brilliant good. Easily 95% of their real father smell. As for their price, their samples cost me like £5 all together and they last a long long long time!!
  4. Hi, PhilFree explained the concentrations very well. I would say the EDP version is a tad rounder and more ripe than the EDT. I have the EDT and still have no regrets. It lasts longer than other EDTs of other frag houses and easily gives me 8 hours but that is because I am fortunate that my personal chemistry allows for it. It may last less on others. Let's put it this way, after my EDT is done, I will get the EDP. But as a starter, EDT will do just fine unless you are truly in love with this scent and want a stand out frag in your fragrance armoury. "Karenin"s review here puts it best. http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Hermes/Terre-d-Hermes-Parfum-8282.html
  5. Hhaha ok ok, I think I'll try and nab a bottle at the airport, i'm off to Frankfurt for the New Year. Perhaps I can join the Mile High Club
  6. Damn I really need to check out that Pure Malt, a lot of people are rating this highly in causing heavy female knee trembling! I will also take a closer look at Prada Amber
  7. 1) Signature Scent : - Hermes Eau de Terre. (No doubt about it) 2) Work Scent : - Lanvin Homme Sport. (A darker sports fragrance, fresh but sophisticated for summer or winter) 3) Night Out Scent : - Guerlain L'Instant (for the Winter, citrus chocolate heaven) - Acqua Di Parma Mirto [blue bottle range] (this in the summer screams sophistication) 4) Close Quarter "Combat" Scent : - DSquared He Silver Wind Wood (women go bananas for this) - Juicy Couture For Men Dirty English (yep, women get juicy after this) 5) Daring Scent : - DSquared Rocky Mountain Wood (This stuff gets you noticed) - Tom Ford Private Blend Noir de Noir (Daring multiplied by a million) 6) Upper class Event Scent : - Tom Ford Noir De Noir AND Tuscan Leather combined [one spray each] (this is the best that I have ever tried, perfect for winter) - Creed Royal Water AND Tom Ford Oud Wood [two sprays of Creed and one of TF] (tried this combo this morning, my family are in awe, perfect for summer)
  8. Guys, let's play this game. I found it online with these guys following this framework trend started by "Brandon" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q_mRXaYbRc&feature=related Basically you take the following list and just add your fragrances: 1. Signature Scent 2. Work Scent 3. Night Out Scent 4. Close Quarter "Combat" Scent 5. Daring Scent 6. Upper class Event Scent
  9. haha yeah, the shape of the bottle is basically sustaining his boner for Creed
  10. Holy FFFF this guy is insane. I would be happy and lucky enough to a have a Creed sample but to have full bottle duplicates etc is crazy haha. He probably knows somebody who works at some place where he can enjoy a discount of some sort. But even then!! I saw one of his comments and he says we should look out for his 2011 revision. Crazy but hey, we collect watch reps like maniacs also and they cost often much more than a Creed bottle.
  11. Yeah but oh so expensive But I agree, Tom Ford has damn good taste and makes some stunning stuff
  12. Haha very true! I bought another fragrance today literally because a girl - friend told me I smelled divine with it. It's Creed Royal Water. I put up a review on this on Fragrantica as well. I am not the biggest fan of C.GIT, it doesn't wear well on me. But I know it's a winner for so many. I promised myself no more fragrances for quite a while now!!
  13. I should have picked up the EDP instead in hindsight, but the sales are still on and I may be able to grab it for a better price, if not, I'll let the EDT run out and then definitely upgrade to EDP. I will be wearing DSquared Potion today.
  14. Reps have become so awesome these days, honestly. Two oldies but goodies Gen AT Rep TG
  15. They were hit hard recently in the markets, but relatively well priced stock if bought now. On the other hand, the future allows us to consider solar energy more and more and the company diversified well by offering products and services. Management team looks solid as well. New Finance Officer but with good years of experience. Another stock I have faith in based on research is, Calpine Corp (CPN)
  16. I looove Hermes Terre, I have the EDT but also lasts ages. There certainly is subtle differences between the Parfum and this but either way, this is a quality scent. Smells so damn good. Citrus, earthy and "metallic", know what I mean?
  17. Oh damn, I have the other theme for RWG and I pasted this review which seemed to be in the wrong colour. Anyway, What I was saying was that over-application is certainly a killer. I also mentioned another fragrance I was eyeing up namely : http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/CoSTUME-NATIONAL/Scent-Intense-2305.html ^ That stuff is interesting to say the least A friend gave me his review and I trust him 100% I pasted it in this thread http://www.fragrantica.com/board/viewtopic.php?id=29999
  18. Oh man, over-application is a killer. Rather no fragrance than excessive smell. Greatness comes and is sustainable with moderation. Here is another fragrance I am eyeing up. A sales lady suggested to me that I try this as it's quite a "controversial" scent. http://www.fragranti...tense-2305.html It's listed as female but wears better on men. When I first smelled it I didn't like it, but it really grew on me. It's simple, and almost transparent, but it messes with your head to the point where you have no idea what you're smelling (in a good way of course), and you'll be loving it soon. Women go crazy for it too, if you're looking for a scent to grab attention. I recommended it to a friend of mine recently who lives in San Francisco, and he bought it blind. He was also a bit unsure of it at first, so he wore it out to the clubs one night, and one girl who had randomly been at a few of the same clubs/bars as him pulled him over in the street and asked if he was the guy who smelled so incredible, and then proceeded to smell him. She then said that if she didn't have a boyfriend she'd be all over him, as the fragrance was absolutely hypnotizing her (I'm honestly not exaggerating, as he was stunned himself when he wrote me the email to tell me about it).
  19. wow tobacco, leather and coffee sounds darn good. I could try layer Tuscan Leather with a fragrance from the A*Men range (one of them has a tobacco coffee oriented scent)
  20. Thanks for the heads up. I guess nothing beats the original of course. I will give a few a try nevertheless, something might stand out to me for other reasons.
  21. Hey Mike, I sniffed TV several times because you put the idea of TV being so darn good in my head. I am addicted to it now. This thread proposes some alternatives that are similar to Tobacco Vanille, perhaps you have heard/tried some. What do you think? http://www.fragrantica.com/board/viewtopic.php?id=29767
