  1. sorry- i meant the 'screw in' crown. The watch is a replacement one as the first wore out. I think el makes the best 183 case, i have an excellent dsn 183 but the case lacks the sleek elegance of mr lee's. SO- where what can be done, and for how much and by whom??? thanks
  2. I have an edie lee 183 with swiss movement. The case and cg look great to my uneducated eye, however experience tells me that daily use will destroy the cg threads. Also it needs lume, cannon pin and water proofing. I contacted vac but he tells me that he'll have to make a new case to correct the cg problem. Is there anyone who can take care of all these problems?
  3. BTW is there a reliable daily beater rep of the stunning IW3714 Portugieser Chronograph Automatic. What a lovely thing
  4. Hi , thanks for the info- and thanks to all you guys for the great response. I've got a bit of reading to do! My PAM collection is nothing spectacular- 183s, 111s, 1950s, etc. I can't be bothered with the spin offs- PVDs Tis etc. All have swiss movements and come from dsn, eddie etc. Thanks again for the directions.
  5. I have the classic PAM collection. Great, wonderful, good lum etc but I'm casting a sideways glance at you IWC afficionados and I'm impressed. Correct me if I'm wrong but IWC is a little bit different from Rolex, Omega and Breitling etc. It's classy, precise and individual. A bit like Panerai. To cut a long story short- who are the main men, what is theeeeee one to have and where should I consider parting with the little cash which I certainly cannot afford to part with. P.S. I don't need six watches in one- I'm deeply suspicious of rep chronos. Thanks...
  6. hi guys, i'm headin to the big smoke in a few weeks. i was wondering if there is anyoone reliable worth checkin out in nwc- wouldn't mind buying somthin good if it was available........ i'd appreciate any tips CHEERS
  7. hi guys, i'm curious. i've dealt wuth dsn, eddie and andrew but I keep hearing jimmy fu's name mentioned in connection with top quality parts. can anyone tell me who he is and what he does? cheers!!
  8. Looks great- what's the strap? Can anyone suggest anyone in the uk who does good work on reps?
  9. while we're on the subject, does anyone know anyone who works on reps in the uk is finepics retired?
  10. Just received Davidsen's 183 with swiss movement. It's absolutely superb to my eyes, great lume, wind down crown works perfectly and really feels like it will last. It even came with an excellent quality buffalo (i think) hide strap. It arrived in the uk in 5 days- and it's waterproof. Hats off to the guy, great work!!
  11. hi guys, just had an email saying the watch is in customs and he'll send out another.
  12. hi, perhaps there's a genuine excuse, if so i'll be the first to say so. As things stand i've made every step to contact him. this is a last resort.
  13. thanks, i've sent about a dozen emails but no reply. beginning to feel ripped off!!
  14. hi folks, i hate talking to myself!! I'm having a few problems getting eddie to reply; he sold me a faulty watch, i returned it, he said he'd received it but weeks later i've no watch and he won't return emails or pms. i can't afford to throw away $330. is this normal behaviour? I'd love to hear from the experts.
