  1. sweet jesus. no offense but the "white paint mod" is a complete piece of [censored].

why would anyone paint platinum numerals white and think that it's a good thing.

I'm sorry but this has been a sore point with me for years now. please stop painting your platinum colored insert white, folks.

Also the DSSD is correct in both gloss and matte dials. there was a change in production in the second year. changing a gloss dial to matte is the same as throwing your money down a rat hole. OM NOM NOM rats love to eat money.

  2. agree that the price are unreasonable high but as long as someone is willing to pay top dollar for it.......as i sold my wm9 v3LV i was directly posting that is overrated and too expensive....still it was gone in a few minutes. When I look at some sales threads over 1k for "superfranken" (what a word...) with gen parts than you might say with a reasonable price breakdown it is fair. But my opinion is still that the price follows the demand. Have you noticed that 1 year ago everybody most people were happy with a noob ? suddenly someone starts selling modded noobs at high prices but still bks wm9 were still the top sub reps and more and more people started buying gen parts. in my eyes the demand for truly replications is increasing and therefore the price as well. take it or leave it or wait 1 year and the hype for the 16610 will be gone (for the major part of forum members) as fast it has arisen. The market will regulate it self. the more TC subs were on the market the less TW will be sold (there are only a few geeks like me that want to have every version) and (not in one year) the prices will decrease because there are so many highly modded watches on the market and it want be rare anymore.

as long as everybody is willing to pay top money nothing will change....we do influence the price with our buying behaviour ;)

  3. Wow, I just had a similar conversation with ubi;

I have a mark I insert (flat 4) and mark II everything for my etaSwiss build.

The mark I had no lug holes so the insert could be correct for a 16610T case, but the mark I dial is different than the mark II dial so anyone than knows anything about the 16610 would instantly know my watch is in fact a terrible fake and should be thrown away with the rubbish!

Haha that's funny stuff right there!! I personally don't give a rats behind that my insert is mark I and my dial, hands, crown, clasp and mid links are mark II. It would be like telling your hot girlfriend you don't like her because her left nip is smaller than her right...

I personally like the flat 4 insert better than the triangle. It's why I used one. If someone has a problem with it, oh well! ;)

    Rant over...

The LV mark I is the only 16610T with flat 4 afaik. 16610 cases for 16610LN with flat 4 have lugholes. If you do not agree I would be happy if you could post a pic where you have seen a 16610T with flat 4 and SL dial which is not a LV. Then I would be convinced :)

  4. well maybe thats why the assume its fake :D

i think the OP would notice...now.

as well as the aficionados. if youre going big, might as well strive for accuracy when youre investing this amount of cash

    but thats just me.

and it´s not all about what others think, as soon as I know a detail it bugs me

  5. I agree these crystals are awesome, but I still don't understand the reason to invest 300$ for a part that is incorrect for a non RRR Sub, while a perfect 2nd hand gen could be found easily at half of the money or even less. On the other hand, for a V serial sub this crystal is a must

my V series has no AR....

  6. Congratz to your new gen. Honestly speaking does not take 2 sec to spot the rep. The lugsize and CG are the obvious tell without looking closer on the wrong indices rims and wrong hands. Not talking about the pearl and ar on cyclop and wrong Color of the insert engraving.

I guess sneed mentioned to own a rep case that have the correct lugsize and cgs. I personaly Never Seen a 116610 rep Case that is correct and have the finish and sharpness any close to a gen. So long i Stick to the 16610 until i find a correct 116610 rep case until i find a correct case. Maybe i oversaw it im Open for any reliable tipps :)

  7. Pitty is i had one few years ago.....but Now i want to Build an early 16610 based on sean so Gen dial will fit. Inspirated by that arkon Guy looking for a 16610 Comex wish i will prepare the Comex decals and therefore i prefer using a repdial instead of a gen tritium.
