  1. Better pricing than buying the genuine watch! Be careful as even Clapton got tired of it after a while and sold it!
  2. I bought a two week old used 1985 16800 for $1050 back in 1986. The jewelry store let me put down 25% and then monthly payment with no interest for a year. Service dial (SL) and hands because back in the day (before I know anything) I wanted it to glow again. Yes, I was stupid enough to loose the original T dial.
  3. For some reason this post is making me sleepy!
  4. Beautiful build! After much research I believe that this is the watch that Ian Fleming originally had in mind when he wrote the James Bond books. Your skills and eye for detail are legendary. Thanks for sharing what you do. It makes it so fun for the rest of us!
  5. Wearable art! To have put it all together yourself is so much better than going out and plunking down a pile of cash for it.
  6. Great work! Now time to have a great cigar to celebrate.
  7. Kent is one of the best. I've met him in person and have used him in the past. How was his communication and time.
  8. Thankfully, I snapped a picture as it was happening. Cheap rep I guess.
  9. Thanks for the review! Michael Young now has some of my hard earned cash. I got a 19 and a 39.
  10. That is really incredible! I live the way it has come together. I know you were trying to keep the costs down. How much did it end up costing? How much time did you put into this. I hope more pictures are to follow! I'll take one!
  11. All very well deserved. Congratulations.
  12. This is a beautiful build! More details about the other parts please! That dial is incredible!
  13. I have one of the last unused HH cases. I also have a whoppy dial, gen hand set (SL), gen 5513 insert, Atheya tube and crown. I've always loved TomHorn's build and that's what's given me inspiration. I still need a gen (or close to it) plexi, a solid Swiss movement and someone to lume my dial (to match gen SL hands). I will also need a decent bracelet and the WSO endlinks. I've been thinking of starting a thread about the build where everyone can join in and help and watch the progress. SpeedyG is a friend and lives within an hour from me. Sorry to hijack this thread but it got me interested and excited again! If there is enough interest I'll start my own thread.
