  1. Trying to make a decision on my next purchase...Navitimer. After reading, researching, etc. all the great reviews and posts I am still torn between the Serie Speciale model or the new 6-9-12 dial layout. I like both layouts but it's obvious the 3-6-9 model has a better date font and depth...

Below is a picture of Andrew's SS model from his website...to me the date font looks closer to the gen than any other i have seen...has anyone out there recently bought this model and or have a picture in double digits for the date?

Opinions and advice welcomed and appreciated...

  2. I recently got a genuine 22MM rubber strap, and it fits the new 45.5MM/22MM PO perfectly. Really gives the rep a different look. I hope to get the Ultimate Edition PO Black 45.5MM, and will have an almost perfect PO rep. Thou it is a shame that they didn't use the right omega logo shape (the size issue has been corrected but the shape is still wrong. The genuine PO uses an omega logo on the dial without "hooks"), like the one in the 4th Generation 42.5.

  3. Ahhh... I was a little off. I was basing my response on this being a late 70's model (1603) vs. a mid 80's (16030).

Out of curiosity, what's the first 3 digits of the s/n?

895...best I can recall. Don't have with me right now...

  4. Thanks for your help Ubi and alligoat...Your assumptions appear to be correct. Band removal indicates it is a 1985 model 16030 with a 1565-1575 movement caliber. Ubi was right on....

Did this model have a plastic crystal?

Is there a good website to get specs on th older models? I can't seem to locate detailed information...

    Again...thanks

  5. I have had this watch for some years...inherited. Think it is late 70's model. Can anyone help me confirm this is the 16220 or 16030? It has the drilled lug holes and I believe what was called "pie pan"...

It needs some work on the crystal and not really sure how to remove the scratches if possible...otherwise in pretty good shape...

    Any help appreciated...

  6. Noob from NY here. Been lurking for a little while and just wanted to say hello to all and thanks for all the information posted on this site. The amount of information here is incredible. I just hope I don't go broke, b/c this is addicting!

  7. This is a beautiful rep..I am currently searching for this model and deciding where to purchase...I understand this is Josh's Special order model with brushed SS and Swiss movement... IYO Is this watch worth the added $ for the model it is?,,,compared to some of the others?

    Thanks...

  8. By-Tor,

Very nice and I don't blame you for hanging on ot this one. Who's model is this and do you happen to know if it is still available? Is this the older model Navitimer?

    Thanks...

Well... my Navi hasn't been getting a lot of wrist time lately (due to my new purchases PO, TAG, etc.) and I was thinking when I saw the new Navitimer and Bentley models that I should get one too. I was approached by a fellow member and I already said that he could get mine for XXX$. You know how it is... hardcore rep-a-holics always jump to the bandwagon and start desiring after the newest model.

Then I put it on my wrist and thought: "No way I'm gonna trade this... what the hell I was thinking?" Subdials look shiny on the oversized pictures, too big date font... so what, who gives a [censored]! The "feel" of this watch just screams quality and the 12-9-6 version is running like a champ after 14+ months. It's always an easy Swiss ETA movement swap with this particular arrangement... and besides: I already have a "bond" with this watch. So it'll stay. :thumbsupsmileyanim:
