  1. I thought the finaly "ultimate" version of the PO was the 6th Gen, and also, my Ingy has sapphire; where did you get yours?
  2. Well Eddie, let's have it' how much of my money are you going to part me with this time?
  3. In case, you don't understand what's on the table, I'll just say, get it or regret it. I have one of the 2893 movement 029's, and I'd be kicking myself had I not bought it. If I had the money for this watch AND a divorce attorney, I'd get it. But funds are limited, and no one wants a divorce at xmas, so I will yield to my wife's demands.
  4. more pic's please....I am trying to decide on this one.
  5. WOW KIRK!!! Looking at that pic reminds me of a buddy's description of passing kidney stones...OUCH
  6. I do everything in my Panerai...I feel naked without a watch on....and not good naked....BAD naked
  7. well, the GP Seahawk and the Certina are the only things I've seen in this thread that make my heart go bump, but not strongly. Call me crazy, but I'd like to see more panerai's with eta automatic movements if that's even possible. That's just my thing. I would probably spring for a seahawk though.
  8. If that's true, it's fantastic. If it's not true, it should be.
  9. You ought to win post of the month for that! (and then donate your prize to me since you got to have the cool experience and bargain basement prices). Seriously I'd have loved to have been there with you. Sounds awesome!!!!!!
  10. Ok, I have never been much for Omega, nor have I been detail freak about any of my reps, but this new 45.5mm 6th Gen PO from Andrew and Joshua has captured my imagination. Can someone help me cost a genuine orange bezel, getting the crystal HEAVILY AR Coated, getting it superlumed, and finally, can someone tell me how I'd get the crystal off and back on along with the same on the bezel. I guess I could ask Vaccuum if he could do all this...oh well, maybe it will inspire others.
  11. I hear a lot of buzz about these guys in the circles I run in: http://www.adamsewing.com/index_content.html I heard the NCH used to be good, but not so much anymore.
  12. my boss and coworker both have this same watch, and apparently it doesn't take much movement to power the mainspring. Both stay maxed out unless they take it off and let it wind down, and both are running fine with no problems. Those Asian 21j movements are work horses.
  13. my point is that the viewpoints surrounding our hobby are wrought with hypocrisy, and it seems that the watch industry is more than happy to allow various degrees of IPR violations based on the direction the wind is blowing at one moment or another. I got my start watching the watch shows on ShopNBC, and so I still drift back to watching now and again when nothing is on TV, and last night they said they will soon be offering full black IP Plated (same as PVD I guess) one with the green lume and one with the orange lume. Personally I do not care. I have owned a couple of invictas, and they are ok for the money, and for what they are, but it just pisses me off to read about people losing their reps to customs when these jackholes are allowed to rip off others creativity in broad daylight and profit from it.

  15. yeah, but his shows a green face and red GMT hand....does that describe yours? I am looking for Eta with black face, green GMT hand, and sub crown and crown guards....let me know.
  16. can someone direct me to a dealer that has this in an eta movement?
  17. I noticed this when I got the watch; a small (less than .5mm) between the case back lip and the case. I have taken it to two watch repair shops, and none of them can screw it down any further. I don't want to bother Eddie with this, so what are my options? I want to be able to waterproof this watch, so this is a big deal for me...please help

  19. Can someone post a good place to find some decent watch tools that won't break the bank?
  20. All of the reviews and pictorals are what prompted me to buy the INGY from Eddie at a premium, knowing that I'd save money by waiting. Pictoral reviews not only prompt purchase decisions, but also accelerate their timeframe from my perspective. Reviews are also what have made me decide my next two watches are the newest Overseas and the 186 Arktos GMT Despit it's shovel sized GMT hand and incorrect northpole caseback
  21. Well, having noticed that my caseback on my INGY was not screwed down all the way, I called a local upscale watch botique here in Austin, TX. I called ahead and they offered to do the work for free if I'd come in and have a look around, and consider making future watch purchases with their outfit. This whole experience could not have been more of a treat. My coworker, sporting an EL LV Sub (this shop does not carry Rolex, Panerai, or IWC, though they are pursuing Panerai) and I sporting my 2893 029 walked in to meet with the lady (Brooke) I had spoken with over the phone. I reached into my pocket and handed her my INGY, and she oohed and aahhhed about how nice it was, did I get it in Austin?, etc... She commented on my coworkers Rolex and my Pam, and I could just see the dollar signs spinning in her eyes. Well, she got out a jaxa type case back opener and tried to open the INGY, and couldn't budge it (their technician, Dennis, is off on Wednesdays). So, I asked if I could give it a go...she protested momentarily, but the sales person in her won out and she urged me on, begging me to be careful. I have never used a jaxa before, and in my first attempt, it slid across the case back and left a scratch. Brooke gasped as though I had just ripped open my shirt and dropped my pants. She looked like she was going to cry, so I just shrugged and said "eh, it's just a watch." By now, several of the sales staff are standing around watching me take off the case back and remove the soft iron core, reset the spring, and re-attach the case back. I got it a full quarter turn tighter than when I went in, but it is still not flush with the case back. My coworker and I spent the rest of the time browsing the Omega's & Brietlings, and having our every whim catered to by Brooke. When we left, she gave us a couple of last month's issues of various watch magazines and her card. In fairness, I may just have to break down one day and buy a gen Breitling Steel Fish or an Omega PO...words cannot describe how beautiful these pieces are in person (I've never seen the reps either). The point of all this is that I was reminded how fortunate we are that we have access to replicas of such a high quality that we can comfortably watlz into a AD, and have them remark on the quality and beauty of the piece, and not suspect for so much as a moment that it's not real. I love our shared hobby, and I appreciate our honest dealers for making this possible. Hope you enjoyed the post as much as I enjoyed the trip.
  22. after looking more closely at mine and the magnified pics here, is it possible that this is glue spillover, and not chipped paint?
