Hello guys,
Want to introduce myself and my project in making my first own brand watch. I believe its better to share my project here too .I had make and sell watch parts, especially for vintage watch project quite long, and i think this year will be a good start to make my own brand watch.
My first watch will be a Pilot Watch style. Made base on Laco FL23883 which its one of the greatest vintage pilot watch that ever made.
Here is the watch specs will be :
- Watch Code Name : AV - Type B Pilot Watch
- Material : 316L Stainless Steel, dark sandblasted finished
- Movement : Miyota Automatic 8215
- Dimension : Case diameter 47 mm, Lug to Lug 54.75mm, Thickness 17mm
- Lug size : 22mm
- Crown size : 8.20mm
- Water Resistant : 5ATM (50 meters)
- Glass : Sapphire Glass, with AR Coating
- Dial : Type B Pilot dial, ivory indicates w/ Superluminova
- Hands : H/M - Blue coated, S - Black coated - w/ honey gold Superluminova
- Caseback : Screw in with my engraving on the outer side.
- Strap : Vintage leather strap with Roller Buckle
- Packaging : Vintage leather Watch case
Here is some Cad drawing for the watch :
Instead of complete watch, i will sell the case kits also, case is made for using miyota 8215 movement, but I am sure it can use other movement.
The inner case diameter will be 44mm, so it will able to accept big movement such as Hamilton 4992B. Case kit will be available in both display and solid caseback.
And also I just rebuild my website again : http://www.athayavintage.com. Please check it out
Thank u very much for all your support guys and wish me luck guys...
Updates :
Prototyping is running on schedule, plan to be finished in this month so mass production can be started early next month.
Here is some proto photos :
If you guys have Instagram account, then please add mine : user : athayavintage, I will post every update on there too -

Hello
Good News guys, this tube is perfect.
Just received mine for the 5514 project, everyone knows that dbane and I have been tearing our hair out because of the strange thread pitch on the gen 702 tubes.
Anyway, gen 702 crown screws down like butter. Tube screws into the case smoothly and seats perfectly how it should.
This tube gets an A+ and I am happy to say that I can finally assembly my 5514. Thanks Athaya, great f'ing job.
@lionsandtigers, Thx for the review, really glad to hear it fits.
@Tonyyammine, you can mail me at athaya.rave@yahoo.com

Hi Adrian,
Welcome onboard, just a quick Thank you for the fantastic service you provided supplying the 2 brevet crowns i purchased from you a while ago. Nanuq has The Zigmeister fitted it on that 6538 yet???
@denihhead, thank you
@cc33, the dial looks hot... oh man.. you will just hurt my wallet more
-
@cc33.
here is one ingod's dial pic. http://www.ingod44.com
PS : please pm me the dial source that you are using on your 6538
-
@cc33, damn its beautiful. is it phong's case too? the dial looks hot too. I plan to use ingod dial on phong's. Things i need to make sure is wheter ingod dial will fit to phong's case since its only 26.5mm size. Or do you have any suggestion for the dial..?
But for the other 2 tiger case, already got some dial for them. Its more likely a fantasy 6538 dial. It's for me and my wife.. hehehee
-
Interesting. Will you be using your brevet crown in the build Adrian?
yes E,
already put the crown on the tiger case, and also do some reshape on tiger lug part. here they are :
Tiger case is the two on top.
Now just need to find times to finish them.. hehehehe
-
Phong's case is much better, although I do like the crystal on the other a lot more. A gen crown and better bezel and insert and a t-17 like the one on the other case, and you have a real winner!
Thx, will research more for T-17 plexi, honestly this will be my first rolex type project. Plan to use rolex cal 1030 on phong's case. wish me luck
How's the bezel construction on the Tiger one?
Its using a gen construction already plus using tropic 19 size plexi.
who is Tiger?
sorry not give more details its an ebay seller id : onlinestorehk
C'mon man, dont you know?
Woods, Tiger Woods the golf player!
LOL. hehehehe
Welcome aboard Athaya, it is good to have you here. That's a nice photo essay.
Thank you nanuq.

Hello Guys,
First of all i would like to say hello, maybe its my first time make a post here. One of my friend over HF suggest me to post the review here.
I just bought 2 6538 case. One is from Phong and the other is Tiger case. Both of them are nice, but i must admit that Phong's is much better. Here is the comparison between both. Phong's is on left/bottom, Tiget is on right/Top
Some small review on Phong's, I think its only the bezel insert and the crown that will need to improve to make it perfect. Hope this will help.
Here is what i mean on Phong's crown parts, the crown top is too fat and also has a tiny lips on the side part.So what do you guys think about these cases...

nice watch... congratz
