Be glad to be told otherwise.
cos I've always admired the tag carrera chronos.
but the rep centre rotor always had teeth.
and that was distinctly different from the Gens I've seen.
while the volume is probably not true to the real movement.
the soothing, rapid ticking is wonderful.
the mechanical beauty of automatics & manual winds.
primarily what sets these watches apart from droning tick that quartz produces.
That's about as detailed a review as one can hope for.
Thank you, again as everybody has so far - for the good effort.
The 288 rep is truly a thing of beauty.
the tag carrera's are mostly right except for one key detail - blue screws.
tag carrera gens don't have blue screws.
the prev. versions had proper SS screws, but wrong centre rotor bearing.
as per the link, the centre rotor bearing is corrected in the newer versions.
so it's an either or situation now.
It's unique, can see it growing on the owner.
think the subdials would look a little more at home with a white dial perhaps?
But i reckon given it's very rare real existence. there's a slight risk
too many people/observers will be only too happy to jump on it & shout REP!
Saw a couple of Rep Silverstones in a store.
They appeared to be automatics, with exhibition back, rotor & all.
Came in black on black. blue, brown or black w/ silver case.
but iirc, Tag only released blue & brown in limited quantities?
might be wrong.
