  1. The timecart watch looks like a standard 626x rep (with all the usual dial sins - wrong fonts, wrong crown, small subdials, etc), nothing special that I can see. & you are literally throwing the dice if you are expecting to receive a Swiss 7750. Have you checked the dealers listed on RWG to see if they have (or can source) the same watch? If not, I would start there since our dealers are known quantities. Another option is to buy a standard 6263 (which most dealers have) & buy a steel bezel (ebay, etc) & swap it with the plastic bezel. Instant 6265.
  2. I am not familiar with the dealer & it is unlikely the movement is Swiss. In any case, pics or a direct link to the watch in question would help. & the (genuine) 6265 came with a black dial as well
  3. Many optometrists will accept a watch crystal for AR. Of course, these are sent out to a lab for the coating (unless you know someone, the labs do not generally deal at the retail level). A local optometrist AR'd the area of the crystal below the cyclops on my TT GMTC
  4. After upgrading to paying membership, you can sell your watch in the Sales forums.
  5. Yes, DW is not known for having good bracelets. I would replace it with a gen (as I always do), nice strap or 1 of Yuki's bracelets. & be prepared to do a bit of modding to get another bracelet to fit (a common problem).
  6. These are steel hands (made for a Rolex 1030) that I had plated with gold (prior to baking)
  7. I think you will find that baking (with a pinch of iodine) results in an appearance similar to the hands in your link
  8. It looks like a v726, which is an uprated V72, so it should be fine
  9. I am not sure about the rusty hands (never seen that much rust on gen hands before), but I love the case & dial. Beautiful. This watch needs a good bracelet, preferably gen or Yuki-quality. Nice work.
  10. Andrew is a very good guy. But please read the newbie faq pinned atop the Introduction forum before hitting the buy button so you know what to expect.
  11. Not a good marketing technique, but it does happen, especially, in a less-than optimal economy.
  12. Do not use ammonia-based glass cleaners on AR. Once the coating is damaged/smeared, the only option is re-coating. Check with a local optician to see if 1 of their suppliers will recoat it for you.
  13. If the movement is a 7750, just ignore the 7750 portion of my post.
  14. Search out 'epoxy' in reference to chrono hands & 'powdered graphite'. You might also search out Ziggy's many threads detailing the inherent problems with secs @ 6 7750s.
  15. Ending the work week wearing my 116509
  16. If the hairspring is hung-up, any kind of tap may mangle it.
  17. Definintely NOT 'paste'. Search out 'powdered graphite' & the 'perfect daytona' threads from early '08 (you may need to research current site URLs as some have changed since the threads were posted). Also, while you are at it, search out Ziggy's reviews of the 7750 & read the Hey Noob FAQ & forum rules pinned atop the Introduction forum (take note of item 5 under Posting).
  18. I would definitely recommend against applying any sudden impacts to the watch. That is just as likely to cause more serious issues than it is to solve the problem. Assuming the watch is not magnetized, most likely 1 of the loops of the hairspring are caught on an adjacent wheel (center wheel), which shortens its functional length & causes the balance wheel (& watch) to run faster. If you remove the caseback & inspect the hairspring closely (with a loop or magnifying glass), you will probably see where it is hanging up.
  19. PCGs. I have seen many early 5512s with those.
