  1. Because the Asian 7750 is a clone of the Swiss version, they are interchangable. Properly serviced, either should provide similar longevity/performance, so there is little to be gained from such an exchange.
  2. Discoloration of text is 1 of the limiting factors in vintagizing dials. Still, the watch looks great.
  3. Love the dial & the black insert looks very understated/cool. You may remember I was considering using a black insert early on. Your dial looks like the same thing NDT is selling for hundreds (due to the 'special paint').
  4. If you had not discolored some of the text (natural aging very rarely affects the lettering), I would say you knocked it out of the ballpark. Still, well done.
  5. I am not familar with this particular watch, so I cannot answer your question. But the fact that, like most reps, the pics are shot at angles that hide most of the date window tells me the magnification may be off. Again, this is something you need to specifically ask the seller about before you click the Buy button.
  6. It is very rare (so rare that I have only seen it happen 1 time in more than 25 years) that an honest seller will post dark, distant, fuzzy, shadowy or otherwise hard-to-see pics of a genuine watch for sale. On the other hand, it is common for rogues to do these things in an effort to obfuscate the details of their crime. Excuses like 'I just got this camera' or 'my wife/friend/dog/fish took the pics' or 'the best I can do with this old camera/phone' are all lies, or should be taken as lies. 1 other thing - Never, ever purchase a Rolex watch without seeing good, clear pics of the movement. And if you are unsure what a gen Rolex movment looks like, ask someone who does know. That way, at the very least, if you end up with a franken, you end up with something of value you can resell to recoup some of your money back.
  7. This seller is generally good, but, lately, I have had problems. Before clicking the Buy button, I would email him with this line - 'If I purchase this watch & receive something that is not exactly as pictured & described on this page <insert page URL here>, you will refund my total purchase without requiring me to return the watch to Asia.' If he agrees, make sure you pay with Paypal & keep a copy of his response. Hopefully, all will be well. But, if not, you are covered.
  8. Welcome to the wonderful world of franken-Rolex.
  9. Contact Paypal by phone, immediately, & explain the situation. They will probably ask for the pics & copies of any correspondence as well. Most likely, although it may take some time to sort things out, you will get a full refund & the seller will get a very unexpected knock on his door. Oh, & never buy anything of value from a newbie member of any website unless someone you know well can personally vouch for him (I see he joined TZ last month). Always a big mistake.
  10. I think this may be the set you need (click pic for link)
  11. I found a set on ebay once & they can often be found in the Sale sections of VRF & TZ. Also, Ofrei sells sets of Bergeon case screws that will work. I cannot tell you which set you need, so you may have to get a couple to find the right screws.
  12. I have no experience fitting a 1560, but here is a 1575 in my 1665 MBW case The dimensions of 15xx movements are all the same (28.5mm x 5.75mm), so it should fit the same way. As I recall, the only modification I had to do to fit the movement into the MBW case was to reshape the calendar ring, which your movement lacks, so that should not be an issue. However, as is always the case with vintage Rolex & rep cases (including MBW), anything is possible.
  13. Looks like a rep to me, so someone (the buyer) may end up with a $5k lump in his xmas stocking (& heart) this year.
  14. Welcome back, Ubi. The Patek is looking swell. Not sure about tomorrow (Friday), but wearing 1 of my Subs Thursday evening
  15. No idea? I have never built a 1655 nor used Yuki's adapter, so you may need to direct your question to Yuki.
  16. Left hand, schmeft hand. Who needs hands?
  17. Adding to Andy's comments - I would give the seller 2 weeks to respond. After that, I would post a brief explanation of the problem in the General forum, including the item you purchased, a brief explanation of the problem, what you have done to contact the seller (including the number of times you have contacted them & in what time period (if you sent me 3 angry emails in 2 days, I would probably not respond immediately)) & any response you have received to date from the seller. Remember, too, that many Asian sellers do not speak English & may use translation software to communicate. So simple/cordial communications are likely to result in the most positive end.
  18. Your movement needs an overhaul. All mechanical engines (the movement in your watch is a spring-driven engine) require regular servicing. But, unlike a car engine, watch engines require complete overhauling on a regular basis to remove old, dry oils and to apply new oils. Rolex, like most watch companies, recommend that your movement be overhauled - completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled & adjusted - every 5-7 years.
  19. Since your watch is not gen-powered anyway, why not just call it an Explorer-style 5510 & call it a day
  20. Much better. I forgot to mention in my 1st post that, while you may like the look, superdomes were not used on Subs until long after the 6200 went out of production. The 6200 should have a Tropic 17 crystal My 6536/1 has a T16, which may give you a better idea of the height/profile of these early Sub crystals
