  1. I've been shopping for a better strap for my pam reps and was looking into Bob's Vertigo collection as they are highly recommended here when I stumbled upon thew new Marino line. http://www.waccex.de/catalog/product_info....products_id=601 I got my black w/ white stiching in the mail last night and I can now see what everyone is talking about. This is a very nice strap, very pliable and soft in it's currently unworn state. I also picked up a standard bob 24/22 'Gator strap as well. Again a nice unit. A tad thinner than I was expecting but levels above the current straps that I have on my reps. My main complaints that I had with the straps that came with my reps is that they are pleanty thick (both 3.5mm or so) but they are not pliable in the least. The black gator strap that Joshua sent with my 005 rep is getting better with time though but the bob straps are more pliable out of the box then a well worn strap currently on the watch. The carbon strap that came on my 212 was pliable but super thin and flimsy. These new straps will be a nice addition to my collection. I'll post pictures next week as they were almost immediatly wrapped and put under the tree as they're christmas presents for me!
  2. There's something soooo right about a 127 on a Greg crazy Horse strap. I too almost pulled the trigger on this very combo but was disappointed with the lack of engraving on the Movement of Davidsen's current 127. I'm going to order the strap after christmas and continue the search for the right 127.
  3. What deployment straps are those on the 212 and 253? I've been looking into getting something in a deployment strap for my 212.
  4. 212 on a crappy brown strap. Better strap then the origional CF that came on it. Still need to find myself a nice band to put on this watch just undecided on what to go with.
  5. second bump...I too would like to know where I can get a good Rep right now. Trusty has one that's close but wrong number of stones. (too few and they're too big.)
  6. While we're on this topic...I've never figured out how to properly remove the strap from my navitimer. Its not the typical screw-in type like my PAM's. If someone could please expound on how to remove the strap it would be greatly appreciated. I also have to agree with the above...if you can swing a genuine strap I've yet to see a rep that's outstanding. The Bobs are good but still lacking a good amount of thicknes compared to the Gens. I'd love to come across a genuine deployment strap but it likely wouldn't fit in the aftermarket deployment clasp either forcing me to buy both the clasp and strap which in the end will cost as much as the watch did itself. However if you're willing to go back to a buckle over the deployement occasionally the factory straps will come up in the $75-100 range.
  7. WAN. Which dealer did you get your Navitimer with deployment through? I got mine from Joshua and when I was looking for aftermarket straps I found that the deployment clasp that Joshua's watch uses still uses holes in the band to hold the band to the deployment clasp and Bob's bands for Breitling didn't have these holes so I was hesitant to order. The deployment on my watch is very nice but I've yet to find any aftermarket bands that look like they'll work with it. Andy
  8. Great feedback guys. Kepp the comments coming. If I were to puchase one right now I think that Dadivsen might get my business Despite his movement not having a swan neck regulator at all. I can count the number of times that I've actually taken my 212 off to show it to someone to where the back would even be seen which Is why I'd rather have the super lume and propre canon pin than the more correct engravings and swan neck on the back of the case. ???
  9. Looks like I missed PureTime's 127 as well. The Pure time Model looks to have everything addressed. Any comments on this version?
  10. Since I joined this forum a 127 has always been on my list of watches that I want but I've never gotten around to getting one. Now that I'm looking I'm finding there are still several versions each with good and bad traits. I've narrowed the field to 3 all with similar pricing...give me your feedback. 1) Perfect clones - I've ordered every single one of my reps through Josh and have zero complaints. His version has the swan neck regulator but no super lume and it has the recessed pin issue. 2) Trusty Time - Again Swan neck regulator, recessed pin issue, BUT has super lume on the dial 3) Davidsen - From all I read davidsen's watches are outstanding. This watch does not suffer from a recessed pin issue and has super lume on the dail. The drawback being no swan neck regulator. I'm leaning towards the Davidsen watch right now because the swan neck in my eyes is rarely seen. Just wanted some feedback to see if you guys think I'm making the right choice or if there are other important things that I'm overlooking.
  11. Maybe you can help me futher. I've recieved several reps and have yet to really like any of the PAM straps that I've recieved. I got a black crok. look strap with white stiching from Joshua that is the best of the ones that I currently own, it's pleanty thick but it's almost hard like plastic and very hard to shape even after being on my wrist for a few months now. Got a brown strap from him on another watch that again had decent thickness but is even worse when it comes to comfort becuase it doesn't have any flexibility to it. The Carbon strap that came on my 212 rep is super thin and cheap feeling though much more comfortable but almost too flimsy. So what I'm looking for is a nice calf stap (don't really care much for the exotic materials) that has good thickness but isn't hard like cardboard and inflexible. Are the standard straps more like what I've already got and the Vertigo what I'm likely looking for? Or are the standard bob straps still steps ahead from the current bands that I have? Andy
  12. Looking for opinions on quality of the standard bob and don straps vs. the Bob Vertigo line. I'd like to pick up a couple straps but I'm primarily looking for black and it doesn't look like there's any black Bob vertigo straps currently available. Are the standard vintage calf bob straps close in quality to the vertigo straps or is there a significant difference, and how do the standard bob straps match up against Don's standard calf straps which seem to be similarly priced. Thanks for any input.
  13. I posted something similar in the upgrades section in reference to my 005. What watch did you start with? Mine has 21J internal movement which seems to be an issue with getting a different crown. I too would like to get a brushed crown guard for my watch as my current one is polished and a crown if one is available. If I can source the parts I'm going to send it to The Zigmeister for a re-lume. I really like my 005 and while it's far from perfect I'd love to make it a bit better.
  14. I forgot to mention this watch actually has a light AR coating on it as well. However you make a good point. Where do you draw the line in improving an inexpensive watch???...I guess I'm just looking to make it a "little" better than it already is since I enjoy it soo much.
  15. I have a PAM 005 in my collection that I find on my wrist more often than any other watch in my collection. The irony of it is that this was also the most inexpensive replica that I own. Off the bat the back is very good, there's no recessed pin and overall for the price I'm a satisfied customer esp. compared to some of the more expensive reps that I own. It was origionally purchased from Joshua and is the following model: http://perfect-clones.com/pn00504-logo-mar...atic-p-684.html My question is can I get an upgraded crown and a brushed crown guard for this watch through anyone? Most of the postings that I see don't specifically include the 21J movement hence I want to make sure that I'm buying parts that will fit my watch. I realize that there are other minor flaws with the watch but I'd like to send it off for some superlume and to have the crown and crown guard upgraded since it spends soo much time on my wrist. Thanks for any input
  16. Could someone please educate me on how to change the band on a Navitimer? Is it a spring loaded pin or something? Thanks
  17. One of the best buy's in my small collection and actually the most worn rep that I have is my PAM 005 from Joshua. No recessed pin, light AR coating, and the face and back are fairly close to the untrained eye. Ironically this is also the watch that I get the most comments about as well when I wear it. Asian 21J movement has kept perfect time for months now with no problems and all for $108. Heck I even bought a second one for my brother. http://perfect-clones.com/pn00504-logo-mar...atic-p-684.html Actual Picture of my watch Andy
  18. Thanks to you and the others for your kind words, and sorry for the thread-jack. He's passed on two other watches to me in the past but absolutely loved this watch...sold or gave away most of the rest of his watches after purchasing this in '99 because he wore it every single day except for the two times it was sent off to be serviced.
  19. Gen. Omega Speedmaster. Dad's old watch that I havn't been able to take off since he passed 4 weeks ago. The reps are feeling forgoten but there's a couple new ones in the mail that might get the Omega off of my wrist.
  20. If anyone watches CSI New York the skinny guy with rectangular glasses wears a PAM of some sort. Can't make out the model. Sorry don't know the character's name as I don't follow the show, saw it in flipping past a few weeks ago and then checked last week and saw the watch again.
  21. sometimes I amaze myself with my own stupidity. Thanks for clearing that up. Andy
  22. 1st official post here. Been lurking for some time and got my first few reps under my belt now. I first started looking for a Navitimer and then found the PAM craze and somehow the navitimer got overlooked. I do rather enjoy the PAM 212 and 005 that I've purchased to this point. Now that I'm finally ready for the navitimer purchase I have a quick question. These two watches appear to be the same watch except one has "LE" in the description. Could someone shed some light on what the LE is and if there are any other differences. One of my biggest complaints about the Navitimers has been the silver subdials. Somehow I can look past some of the other flaws but the silver dials drive me crazy. The LE model appears to have very good white coloring on the subdials. Also it appears as though the straps on the reps are a bit off as well. If anyone can point me towards a good deal on the gen strap or a good rep Breitling strap it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Andy http://perfect-clones.com/bl10009-navitime...aph-p-1704.html vs. the "LE" model http://perfect-clones.com/bl10040-navitime...nos-p-1706.html
