  1. That is gorgeous I'd like to know more about the movement as well. Isn't a 113 a 44mm model?
  2. I'd like to know as well. The one that comes with the Big Pilot rep is pretty weak. There was an OEM Big Pilot brown buffalo strap on eBay the other day but it didn't have the clasp so I ignored it.
  3. Supposedly there was going to be a Big Pilot better rep before the end of the year too, but that never happened either.
  4. Yeah, looks fake to me. I love how he blotted out the serial number and limited edition number.
  5. I'm guessing you didn't watch the video, lol. 5 a second? Yes. 1 every 2 seconds? No.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys! I talked with the dealer and he said he has heard of these symptoms before and will send me a new one after the new year. As it does still keep the time (I think) I'll still wear it and just try to ignore the stuttering. Also, as far as the crown, can I just put a droplet of oil on the screw? Or is that not how it's done?
  7. Well I finally got my noobmariner today and it seems to be having an issue. 1st, and this might be unrelated but I thought I'd mention it first just in case it is related, I noticed the crown is rather flimsy and really weird feeling. Almost like grinding metal, just really rough. When screwing it back again, it feels like it just catches on everything. And I noticed once, on the final turn of screwing it back in, the minute hand moved ?!? lol. So I had to unscrew it and set the time again. 2nd, and this is the main issue, my movement seems to stutter. The second hand specifically "skips" rather weirdly, but it always seems to catch back up with itself. I can't describe the problem very well in words, so I uploaded a video of it. It's a dark video but I think you can clearly see what happens, watch the whole thing. And also note that it doesn't matter where the minute and hour hands are, it happens everywhere around the clock, so I don't think it's getting hung up on those. LINK: Movie Link LINK: It's a large file, 27mb, so try right clicking and using "save target as" on windows or "download linked file" on mac. I've uploaded it to YouTube as well, the second link, and it's lower quality but I think you can still see the stuttering. Any help is appreciated! Cheers.
  8. It's just a forum member who runs a blog. I've been reading it for a long time and it's always got some good info on it. What's the big deal?
  9. How do you guys know this information? I've been tracking something coming from England to US and all I get on the tracking site is: Your item, posted on 30/11/06 with reference XXXXXXXXXXX has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. That's all it's said since December 1st. It doesn't give any information about customs, US tracking or anything. Am I missing something?
  10. Well considering all the watches I want are either limited editions or out of production, I guess I'd have to buy used. But of course I would always buy new if I could.
  11. Yeah, and how about no swan neck. What a jackass.
  12. Everything works fine here, in both Safari and Firefox. Middle click with the mouse doesn't open it up in a new tab?
  13. Yeah, he mentioned that my caseback was a mistake. I only got mine about a week ago He's supposedly shipping me a new caseback, but to be honest, there are so many flaws with the watch (cosmetic off from the gen) that I think later on, sometime next year, I'll just buy whatever the best version is then and switch some stuff out. Even if he does ship me the correct caseback, it still has that brushed back on the numbers that I pictured. But gald to hear you are happy with it, post some pictures!
  14. He was probably looking at the Asian one. Indeed, Both Davidsen's and EL's high end swiss Fiddy is close to $400.
  15. That's basically the brunt of it. The case and dial is correct, i.e., the crown is on the correct side, but yes, everything else, the movement and the caseback is from the 217 which is an H series movement. You are slightly incorrect. The swan neck is not what you circled, but close. The swan neck is the long curved metal piece that goes out from where you circled, around the needle and back up towards it (shaped like a swan's neck). And yes, even though the movement is wrong, mine does have it. That true, it is expensive and things can go wrong. However, it's still relatively cheap compared to the real thing. As far as things going wrong, that's why it's extra important to get a good person doing it. The Zigmeister for instance has a great track record around here. And I agree, a rep is a rep, especially with a limited edition watch, it's never going to get there. Some people will still spend that amount of money to get that close though. For me, I had 4 Panerais. After I got the Fiddy I realized it was the only one I'd ever need, it has the size, beauty, sandwich dial, etc... I just love it. So for me, I'd rather spend $700 modding it to make it extra close to the original, more solid and correct and more reliable (i.e., getting it serviced). Yes, the swan necks on the reps are pretty bad compared to the gen, but, they at least look better than not having one at all IMHO. I'd rather have even just a cosmetic one if it at least looked correct, but our Asian friends haven't put that much effort into it yet, and who knows if they ever will. So you are right, if a swan neck is a completely important part for you, you may have to get a gen to be satisfied. If you want to buy based on quality and not cosmetic flaws compared to the gen, then absolutely go with Davidsen, absolutely, absolutely, absolutely. His watches are tanks and the movements are the best money can buy in the rep world. You will not be dissatisfied with it. The best way to get ahold of him is just to email him: davidsenjpn@yahoo.com
  16. That certainly does look huge!
  17. I'd like to see some wrist shots of the 46mm one as well. I have many 47mm watches, the big pilot, Fiddy, etc... but they are all round, so I'm guessing the B&R has a total different feel.
  18. What's that mp3 player? Doesn't look like an iPod... ??
