  1. Mine is headed to Jmb for his new tension ring. I saw those Clark's on ebay but thought it probably wouldn't work. Thanks for taking one for the team! I will buy a few of these for future subs.
  2. duh! Thank you!
  3. I'm curious, I've seen a few of these frankin projects here and some of you are using gen movements I have been watching the bay and haven't seen many, so where are you getting the movements and what kind of price are you paying?
  4. now that you have it apart...what's the plan?
  5. Auto..that makes sense and is an excellent idea.
  6. Funny... I was the first post in this thread with my opinion on josh and value of knowing you will be taken care of when something goes wrong as opposed to saving a few bucks. As fate would have it, my PO died yesterday when I got up. It had been starting to wind rough for a week or two, but now it barely goes into the winding position and sometimes the rotor spins while winding. I emailed josh..got a reply 27 minutes later. He apologized for the watch and gave full detailed inst on how to get it back to him and assured me he would make it right. Keep in mind the watch is a month out of warranty. This is why I do not put alot of value in price shopping and nitpicking over 20-30$.
  7. Very cool! This will come in handy someday. Maybe a sticky?
  8. lookin good! After I got to work today I realized what day it was and wished I had been on the ball and worn my LV!
  9. omega for me today
  10. thanks ! Learn somethin new every day!
  11. Awesome Sly! Can't wait to see it when your done! It gives me deep pleasure knowing I had a small part in this.... (I bought one of your parts..LOL)
  12. Hey jkay! Thanks! Thats great information, compared to the two dallas watchmakers I talked to(200 and could go higher). I will give Katt a try. My PO just went on the fritz. Thanks again for the heads up!
  13. Thanks for the answer Freddy
  14. Ahh thanks automatico! I've got those too...now if I can learn not press too hard on that tiny button...screwing up the keyless!
  15. I believe I've seen this one in person..and it's even better than the pic
  16. And there you have it. It must be a different situation in Eu because the small handfull of qualified watchmakers are in the 300-400 range here in the US with a huge backlog. I wish I was wrong but I've never heard of 60$ movement service anywhere here. I am slowly doing alot of my own work, but it will be a long while before I get to the level of tearing apart ETA's and not ruining them...lol
  17. Great! I have most of this stuff, but what are pin wrenches? Also, that is a great idea to take the movements out to take to a watchmaker for service!
  18. 40-60$? Not saying your wrong.. I'd pay up to a 100$ to have my non-chrono watches serviced by someone fairly close and qualified, and I'm sure there are lots of guys that would do the same. I just don't know anyone that fits the bill. To send my watches off to somewhere unknown in Eu and wait a few months..dunno if I would want to do that.
  19. Now that is a beautiful watch!
  20. If I could just keep this bezel on *&@@!!
  21. Isn't a rolex 6538 a 38mm case as opposed to 5513 with a 40mm case? Might be wrong but I would think the T17 would be smaller?
  22. Zig has a section here on this forum with contact info I believe
