There are hundreds of Lv inserts out there for sale. Funny thing...just being green makes them several times more expensive than a normal black insert. The cheapest gen green insert I've ever seen over the last three years has been 350$, most are 4-500$ I made one using a cheap eBay insert from Hong Kong and a gen pearl a few years ago...but sold it. It looked spot on too, at least from the front or mounted in the watch. Gen pearls are hard to come by in the 166&& series, but doing that is cheaper than buying the gen. My TC is a plain 16610 instead of the LV for this reason, and I have a gen insert installed. Your new LV rocks SSteel! Look forward to seeing her finished.

Budget is everything. You should figure roughly where you want to be when your done, that way we can allow for what expense should be spent and where. If your starting with a Yuki case set, your already into some bigger money. I believe his cases sets are 400-500$ There are a lot cheaper ways to start with (cartel/josh), and of course a lot more expensive ways (Phong) with cases.

Sooner or later they are going to have to face this. There is no way they will just put away their dead vintage watches. You know they will quietly slip in a non correct part, just like we do..to keep the watch going. In fact, maybe guys like Phong get even better at fabrication and somehow the vrf guys "legitimize" him Maybe even a Phong and Yuki section for sellers lol

I have a few 2846's and all have run well. There's a seller on eBay that sells them brand new for 100$ from time to time. I and other members have purchased from him. He has one up right now for 89$...seller: swisstickers ETA: to add, they are the 17 Jewell version, nos and clean. I've had one running smooth and keep good time for about a year in my 5512. Seller is in Switzerland and ships fast. I have purchased from him 3-4 times.

Lol! So true! At some point there are only gonna be three or four guys left with any parts. I understand their purity thinking, value etc. But when the mothership itself refuses to give up parts, there just is no other way to keep these pieces alive or restore them. You'd think they would understand in order to keep the love alive...sooner or later they will have to bend and change their philosophy. In the four or five years I've been following those guys...they are even worse now.
