  1. No worries of offending me I see the differences you point out. I am no expert, but you do know the gen's printing, fonts, and spacing.. vary from year to year, and batch to batch? I would like Freddy's and anyone else's opinion that know dials well. If it's so off, a gen dial is not all that expensive anyway.
  2. How do you feel about this Ingod 5512?
  3. A real classic Jkay! J did my hev recently and although it doesn't really make a flip of difference, it makes me happy Enjoy that fine SeaDweller!
  4. Love the linen J, this particular dial is classy
  5. Movements are even cheaper than that, I paid 170$ for my donor watch. OP, beautiful Seamaster!
  6. Poor M has to wear that ruddy thing... yet again! (killin it with your Daytona! )
  7. Oh now you've done it!
  8. Your estimates correct modelizer. I think I have about 1200 in mine. Last thing to do is send it off to Z for a vintage lume The thing about costs on a project like this...you do it in increments and get to finance it at your own pace. You can start with a basic MBW case and get it going for 1/3rd the final costs. Another thing to keep in mind is parts costs can be all over the map. You can pay crazy money on some parts simply because they can take months to find. I gave up on finding a gen hev after three months and ended up getting one from Phong. I got my nos service insert in the wrapper for 100$ shipped. But other parts I'm ashamed to admit what I paid
  9. I would assume that too.
  10. You can get gen insert for the LV at TRF. There were two last week. Gen #703 crown on eBay, find seller jewelerstools, he has them. Find seller nostalgia2000, he has gen spec Swiss #703 tubes for 17$ TRF and VRF both have gen crystals.. I'd look for a used one. I also want to mention that this watch comes with TC's new LV insert. He's worked on this for months and there's a good chance it's very gen like. You might not need to by a gen insert at all.
  11. I think auto had one and had to do a bunch of machining on it to be able to use it.
  12. Very cool Nanuq, that is one fine flake and it's great to hear the news of another talent
  13. This is Tudor Collector, kinda like the Doubleredsedweller site http://tudorcollectorsite.blogspot.com/?m=0 It's not the end all of info, but lots here
  14. Very cool! Congrats!
  15. Thing about Phongs case is at 14-1500$ you can almost find a gen used case for that. But your right, in many cases there is no MBW option. I want a no guard sub, and I'll probably have to get a Phong.. silex and cartel are so far off.
  16. You can find #703 crowns on ebay for 50-80$ Nostalgia2000 on eBay sells gen spec 703 tube for 17$
  17. That's a genuine Rolex T39 service crystal Also, what the others have said about starting at MBW is 100% true. I put half of my parts on a cartel 1665 when I started this project and just wasn't happy at all.
  18. My GW built on an old MBW case set.
  19. Nice!
  20. 1954 6204 for me
  21. Decal beater today
