Oh, It would be cool if we could just get the sapphire caps. It would be a fairly easy job to dig out the crummy lume out if a rep pearl, relume and add the cap.

I can see some reps being made with less quality steel doing that. Most of the newer reps seem to be made with pretty good steel though. If I had one that did that, I'd try a cape cod cloth. There's chemicals in the cloth that treat the metal and might prevent that from happening.

What I was saying was...Ive seen that model watch with that kind of lume posted by members. Have a look in the IWC forum or past sales. It's been over a year, but it's been done. I think it's a cool model, just wish they made it smaller.

Just hang in there Luke, Also consider buying from the sales forum from time to time. You can find incdredible deals on watches already modded.. and on top of getting your watch faster.. you get a tracking number that works!

Welcome to the forum. You need to understand this is not like ordering something off eBay. The tracking numbers may or may not really tell you much. Your watch will show up. There are a ton of factors involved, but in general you can expect delivery 10-30 days. Usually closer to 10 days but sometimes longer. Puretime will be of no help unless it's gone over a month. The tracking numbers online are never accurate. Your watch could show up on your doorstep tomorrow and tracking online will still say its at customs. This is a patience hobby. Just forget about your watch for awhile or you will drive yourself crazy. Most of mine have showed up around 10-12 days from the ship date. I had one that took a month, and one that was at my door in five days. There's just no rhyme or reason to it, and no one has the power to change anything once shipped. The good news is.. there's about a years worth of reading material here in the various areas to learn about rep watches to keep you busy

Yeah, but you gotta get three or four wm pearls to get a good one, and then the metal cup has a yellowish tint.. Also there's 10$ shipping...but other than that, it's our only option till TC saves the day.

For 88$ I'd buy the quartz rep just for the bracelet. Whatever the auto reps size lugs have 22mm? Just ask the quartz seller if it's a 22mm bracelet. As far as this model iwc, I have seen a couple modded with lume like your picture, so it definately can be done. Do some searching about that model in our iwc forum. Good luck with your project

I still have never seen sapphire series pearls for sale..anywhere. Someone said they knew where to get them once, but when pressed they didn't have a source. As for the plexi subs, Ofrei, Yuki, and a few ebay sellers have those acrylic pearls. The 16610 sapphire pearls are not for sale anywhere I know of. There are a few horrible inaccurate ones on ebay..like the crap that come on most of our reps, but gen or aftermarket.. the only ones are wm pearls...and they are not all that good. If Tc can produce these..that would be great

Welcome to the forum Zulu, On the subject of taking our reps into genuine delaers...that is a serious no-no. It's not about legality. We don't do that ever. We want our hobby to be under the radar out there and do not need attention drawn to our hobby. We also do not post pictures on gen forums. Both of those things will get you banned on all of the replica forums. Again...we don't want attention drawn to our hobby, so resist impulses to show them to genuine watch dealers. Or to try and see the genuine watch forum guys go crazy, or try to trick them. These are the basic rules of our hobby. Stick around, there are some really good people here and so much to learn about watches, both rep and gen.

One thing I have learned playing with both a regular digittal camera and my Iphone...is outside daylight of some type is the single most important thing. Unless you have some sort of high end light box of course. The best pictures have all been on my back patio with some form of natural light. The second thing for my Iphone has been a tripod. I have a few different tripods and a couple different adapters that hold the phone. I am a far cry off from being good at pictures compared to most of you, but those two things have enabled me to "get lucky" and get a nice pic sometimes.

There's a seller on ebay in Switzerland that has 2846's for 99$ shipped. You can also find 703's on ebay in the 50-70$ range quite often too.
