    Thanks TeeJay!
  3. Very nice, thanks for the pics Looks pretty good to me, if the gen is yours it would be nice to see a shot side by side to compare dials. The only thing that glares at me (just like all reps) is the pearl. That's easily fixed though. Thanks for posting and congrats. Glad you got the screw out

Who broadcasts this show? I've never heard of it, showtime, HBO? It sounds interesting My dad flew in WWII and Korea, flew for GM in the early 60's and after many years retired from UA as a Flight Instructor. He wasn't a "watch guy" at all. He wore simple Bulova watches, changing models maybe every decade. He never really understood my fascination with them. I knew the Rolex Pan Am story but hadn't heard of this show. I'll check it out.
  5. Thanks guys for the nice words! The black one is Jmb's decal rose dial in a josh 5513 case. The insert is the rep that came on the watch, aged in drano. The pearl is from an eBay seller in hong kong.. Search for my recent thread "my Tudor finally got a pearl"
  6. I'm not a daytona expert, but that's awesome! The bracelet looks really nice too! Congrats!
  7. It just returned home from Jmb's shop MBW case Swiss eta Yuki dial/hands lumed by Pbad Gen T19 service crystal Gen crown/Clark tube Gen blue insert, Ofrei pearl Everything put together and fine tuned by Jmb This one came out really nice, it's more striking in person Thanks to Jmb for his hard work, and thanks to all of you for the knowledge here!!
  8. Stayin with this
  9. Good advice and good looking watch S!
  10. Dizzy, the last one I had like that I took to a jeweler. He used cobalt bits and drilled it out...was frowning when I picked it up. He told me he broke three bits doing it. Jewelers are not fans of stainless steel
  11. I agree with Freddy, I watched this morning when first posted. Moms missing and dad's odd. I thought something was wrong with the whole picture. When I listen to the tapes too.. They are doing some serious editing the way it stops and starts. That made me think it might be about context and the parts they didn't play. My mind probably would not have gone in that direction..had I not gotten the weird vibe from dad. We will probaly never know.
  12. I'd like to know more about this subject myself
  13. S, don't worry...I'm sure your wrist is bigger than mine! M, I saw a watch like yours on the bay the day....not as nice as yours!
  14. The snowflake is finally finished... thanks to Jmb!
  15. Your right J, I'll wait till I can do a better one.
  16. I love that dial J!
  17. That looks great Nanuq Nice color too!
  18. Love the thick numbers on that dial M!
  19. Stayin with my new pearl equipped Tudor
  20. Just a couple more. My pics are better with the new phone, but I still need lots more practice.
  21. Yeah Nanuq, I was thinking they were clearer than the others. Only the inside the "cap" if you could call it that, was painted. The majority of the inner cavity is empty. It would be easy to change color. His text in the auction reads like they are genuine......sorta "new old stock original plastic luminous dot (according to market demand, it has been refilled with non-bright old luminous) for various vintage Rolex submariner models' bezel use, diameter is 2mm" I have a brand new 5513 insert here with lumi pearl, and other than color they look alike. I'm going to compare them under magnification tomorrow.
  22. They were 57$ for two...including shipping. Not cheap, but not bad. eBay seller watchesandparts. Located in Hong Kong, about two weeks delivery. They aren't completly filled with material inside, that could be changed. I like the color for this watch though.
  23. I found these on eBay from a suggestion from a member. I think I have purchased 3 or 4 different kinds of rep trit/ lumi pearls. Ofreis and yuki's are nice, but so far I really like these. The sellers ad reads like nos that he's vintage lumed. But I haven't asked him what they are. This is what they look like My Tudor with Jmb rose dial has needed a pearl for a long time....and now I think it's done.
