  1. Finally the iwc big pilot 5004 with correct hands is listed on joshs page. Only thing is that it still has the wrong strap but i have an oem big pilot strap at home which waits for this watch :-)

Any other flaws beside the sunken date wheel ??

Nice! I still have a couple of the gen BP crowns with Probus Scafusia! Hopefully, they can be used to be swapped on on of these!

  2. Hi Guys,

I'm located in singapore, a tiny country located in south east asia.

Beside The Zigmeister, chieftang, k2222 & jakub(MIA) who are located in the europe region, any idea if i can get any independent watch repairers in the asia region to do it?

    thanks

    Hi,

for what you are asking, sorry no. In fact, I dont think any one does the rotor engraving anymore.

  3. there is, if you look at your pic, there is a fine high gloss greyish circle around the 12 and 6 subdials. you can see it better at the 6 dial in your case. then compare with the rep pic at the top.

I agree there is a high gloss circle around the sub-dials but I actually think its more black than grey. :)

If you could get some close-up pics, would really appreciate it!

  4. you have to get the Gala gen, no question on that!!!!!

as for the TP, yes it is amazing. i would just get the subdials for the chrono modded with the "grey"ish rind around them. all that is required is paint that matches with the gen. i will try and do this myself, we have the gen at my AD right now.

Hey asim, you work at IWC right? I honestly do not see any grey sub-dial when I was at the boutique. Here is a pic of it on sale as well and it looks to be with no grey sub-dial.

  5. Beyer has the Galapagos at 7600 CHF / $6759 USD.

The Deep Two is a whopping 18,300 CHF / $16,274 USD!! Yikes.

    I want the Deep Two!!!

I got arond the same price range when I asked at the IWC boutique in Malaysia. I am gunning for the Galapagos!

  6. Hi Mark,

I'm afraid a gen crown won't fit. The rep crown has a tube that is threaded on the outside. The gen tube is smooth on the outside. Although it's a screw down crown i have no idea where the thread is.

This looks like a mighty project mate :good:

The gen dial is somewhat less smooth and this gives it a more deep black look. Chief's AR looks more or less the same as the gen AR, so that's good. One thing that always stands out for me is that the 12-3-6-9 markers are different from the rep markers... but they don't glow much more!! The gen superlume is hardly doing it's work, but keep in mind that this watch does not need to have dive watch specs... but pilot watch specs!

Just be aware not to spent an amount that could also buy you the gen... ;)

    Hi Frank,

thanks for the advice! Honestly, the only thing I am consdering now is the movement, to ge the gen movement or just stick to a swiss one? what do you think?

The difference in Dw is really not that much but the costs is nearly double!
