Thanks TC and very interesting. Looking forward to your update on the V3 bracelet.

Hymmm - actually if you want to be correct then "out of the box" would more than likely be BK due to better dial, slightly better SEL, better insert and white date wheel. TC has better crown height, cannon pin (hand height from dial) and strap has hollow mid links but that's an easy fix. Crystal is really 6 and half a dozen. The fix's mentioned that TC is working on (as i understand) are SEL, date wheel and pearl and when these are done I have no doubt that these will make a big difference. The water resistant thing is [censored] as they are both capable of being very good in this area - more to do with the care that goes into construction.

TC Sub/Gen Insert Headaches: Fits bezel, pops out when installed on case
jasf2002 replied to lhooq's topic in The Rolex Area
Strange - the TW best crystal retaining ring does this but the TC one is lower profile so should not have this issue. I guess the tolerance may not be consistent and you are suffering from that - I shaved the inside of an insert gradually on a TW best and eventually it fitted fine so that solution sounds valid. -
What is the Clear Coating Over the Pearl Made of?
jasf2002 replied to tc670207's topic in The Rolex Area
As I understand it's Sapphire but that is from everything I have read. Looking at the one I have it's very very smooth like glass so doubt it would be epoxy. Sure someone will have a definitive answer though -
Will Bk TW best parts fit straight into a TC case?
jasf2002 replied to cougar1's topic in The Rolex Area
I fitted my TW bezel straight on to the TC crystal retaining ring and had no issues. I did this as the gen inset would have to have been slightly sanded round the edge to fit the TC bezel - not the case with my TW. The TC bezel ring does not need sanded as it has a different profile. No idea with the movement but doubt you could use the movement ring and tabs as TC case is designed like gen which is different so you would need to try it with the TC movement ring. My pers view is that the way that the TC movement ring works is far superior to the tab approach -

I have a need for assistance with a TC case set

Mine works with a cousins gasket which is generic so no reason to doubt a gen would fit. What about the supplied crystal and gasket, or did you buy case only? -
May I ask who / what is Londongeorge?
-
You can indeed - stick it in a drill bit and use some sandpaper round a thin blade and just let it do the work. You actually get quite a good result. I found though that an early 703 is the best option as 702 is a fortune and 702 tube almost impossible to get!

Hey Prospex Interesting that the Sternkreuz xs 303.472 did not fit as it is the smaller of the two available - there is a 305mm and a 303mm. The 303mm fitted perfectly on the Josh 5512 that I sold you without adjustment and was perfectly water proof. I might have put it in the wrong packet - did you try the others? Good luck with the changes

TC Submariner Review (V2 bracelet, gen insert)

Where has Prec Time gone? His website is still up and running with the Supreme still listed -
There are white sub hands shown but I think listed wrong. I've orders a few things with no issues - email him if in doubt he replies quickly

Raffels time if it's a DG movement

there are actually two sizes I'm afraid 305mm and 303mm - I got both from Cousins uk and the 303mm fitted perfectly on the Josh case. I then got a gen but it was a bit tighter but not much: http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/4/494/1957.aspx

The SG's do look stubby but they can look quite nice - here's mine -
Fair point but they are actually fairly consistent - you are right though they not perfect
-
Yes I have some yuki hands and the glow is a pretty good match with wm9 superlumed dial that I have. Only problem is that these are the Tudor one which have issues such as the short second hand. I will mail the as they supply hands with their conversion kit
-
Thanks both - I have been in touch with BK about his new hands but it may take a bit of time until they are ready and I was looking for an interm. Guess I may just have to be patient

On the Crown tube I can confirm that a gen 703 will not fit the rep tube on a josh case. You are right that the early 703 is best I.e. the one with the long crown is slimmer and makes the CG's look much better. -
Hi Can anyone point me in the direction of the best supplier for Submariner hands with superlume for a 16610 with ETA 2836? Much appreciated if anyone can help
-
Fair question I'll take the bracelet off tonight and let you know. From a gen spec point of view - gen insert snapped in, clark crystal fitted perfectly and I have pressure checked, gen crown fits on existing tube

You can get it without Rehaut engraving per pictures above- you just ask PT. The PT sub was discussed previously and by-tor was pretty sure that it was the V1
