  1. Why is that? You already have a dial that you want to use, or......?
  2. He still makes it, it's just slightly different. My guess is that it's a different dial printer now, but I don't know.
  3. Wow, that's quite a haul, UJ! Nicely done! Regular old cape cod cloths seem to do the trick. Hmmm, best 029 case? Do you have the dial? I think his case looks pretty good, although the dimensions are slightly different than "normal" rep cases. He's changed CGs about a dozen times, so I'm not sure what he's currently offering. The CG on my 010D that I got from him is a bit too thin compared to the thickness of the case, and the lever is centered, not offset to the top. If you have a gen/Jimmy Fu CG, it most likely won't fit DSN's case. At least my 002D CG wouldn't fit on my 010 rep from DSN. Sounds like you've got some GREAT project watches coming up!
  4. Who are you pricing unbranded 111 clones from? I don't think you'll find a superlumed and Swiss powered rep for $200-250... I DSN charging that much for his A6497 powered sterile watches?

Nice! Where did that originally come from? That's the best 112 dial I've seen!
  7. Consider yourself lucky, ubi. This is the original version of that dial which is no longer being made by DSN. His new dial is still nice, but the "L Swiss Made L" is a little closer to the minute marks and the 6/9 are slightly less closed on his newer version. That's a keeper, my friend! I was even lucky enough to get one of DSN's Swiss/swan neck E movements with mine (it was a 114E when I ordered it ). Shame that movement is hiding behind a closed caseback, now...
  8. So, Savage clued me in to the fact that these hides were incoming a few months ago. He calls them his "SAV" straps, as the hides are quite similar in color and feel to the PAV leathers. I ordered a "natural" strap for me and a "burgundy" strap for my wife. I got them both with dead end stitching, which is not consistent with the PAV straps, but I like the dead end style better. I got them both with two thinner, floating keepers, but Savage said he would do two thin floating, one fat floating or even 1 fixed, 1 floating for a small extra charge. VERY cool! Notice the keepers also have a new embossing on the edges (you can still get them plain, though, if you want). The stitching on both straps is the same thread. I really like the look of it on the burgundy leather! Black thread on the burgundy would look good, too, but it wasn't the "look" my wife was going for. Notice the difference in the thicknesses in this last pic. My wife doesn't like her straps quite as thick, so Savage skivved down the leather for her strap to make it thinner! Fantastic work, Savage! Now, this natural strap will eventually find it's way onto a PVD rep project watch that I'm currently working on. I started wearing it on the 002 so that I could jump-start the patina building. Here is a pic of the strap before I punched the hole with a PVD buckle from TC Straps mounted. I think it's gonna look sweet! Here are some more shots of the natural on my 002: I love both of these straps! Thanks again, Scot, for all the hard work and communication during the past couple of weeks! There is also and orange-ish leather from this "series" that I didn't order... Yet. Thanks for looking!

asad, isn't that 009 you got from andyaudi? If it is, than it's a discontinued DSN sandwich dial that Flav filled the indices on. But in your last post, it sounds like this isn't a DSN dial? Unless I misread.... Looks great!
  10. Looks very similar to a DSN dial to me. The shape of the 2 in 12 and fat crossbar at the top of the 3 look just like my DSN dial. The "L Swiss Made L" looks to be slightly different position than mine. The sheen of the dial and indices are just the same as my dial, though. I say rep, but a VERY good one.
  11. My gut says Asian, old skool. Incabloc instead of Novodiac anti-shock system, no "dimple" on the lug were the mainspring is connected to the regulator. If we could see the shape of the spokes on the balance wheel, that would help.
  12. Did you report the problems with your first watch to the dealer?
  13. That's not an homage, it's a replica. The minute the Panerai name shows up on there (or any other trademarked/patented logo or design) it ceases to be an homage. However, I agree you need to replace the hands or have them relumed. Looks like you also need a tall canon pin while you're at it.
  14. His and hers: "Compromising positions": Stack o' PAMs:
  15. Yep. Looking at my gen 210, you would be hard pressed to even tell there WAS anti-reflective coating on it. My 002 has AR that is quite blue, but it might be a replacement crystal or an aftermarket AR job...
  16. DSN's is AR coated on the inside only, just like the gen Fiddy. I don't know of ANY Panerais that were double-AR in their gen form.
  17. It's a friction-style clasp. There are little teeth on the bottom side of the lever that hold the free end of the strap in place. It's the same as the gen and Ted Su sells a strap just like that without the Panerai engraving on the buckle.
  18. Yep. It's just more subtle than what we seen on our reps. The rep sapphire Fiddy crystals are REALLY blue.
  19. Sure, send me the Zero for a while. UJ, that 3rd pic is now my desktop. Thanks!
  20. Here's my favorite shot of my 210...
  21. I really hope it isn't just a photo/angle trick making the engraving *appear* smaller. Interesting, indeed!
  22. If you go the CousinsUK acrylic route, I used a 37.2mm Sternkruez low dome crystal and vaccum said it fit the mini-Fiddy case better than any crystal he'd tried before. Here's a pic:
  23. Uh, why the hell would that thing be worth $900? Simply because the dial/hands are aged? Other than that "modification", it seems to be a pretty standard 6152-1 rep...
  24. Why would you want a 183H with an E series movement?
  25. Great watch and a wonderful strap choice!
