  1. I have his Yachtmaster, from way back when he was Watchmaker8 (seriously). A couple of flaws, including skinny minute hand and ticks that stop short of the edge of the face. However, this is one of the highest quality reps I have seen, in terms of fit and finish. After 2-3 years it looks great, gains about 10 seconds per WEEK, and is guaranteed water resistant to 100 meters. My MBW white SD cost as much and was delivered with the O-ring sticking out from under the back (but concealed by the end link so I didn't notice until after it got wet). I wouldn't buy again at Watchmaker9 prices (except maybe the modern Seadweller, look at that thick crystal!) but he shipped very fast from US, easy payment options - I have nothing bad to say about George (but he is not THAT George). Michael
  2. I can't see a single flaw, and the crystal is to die for.
  3. Typically, yes, intentional unethical acts are excluded from malpractice insurance coverage (that's how mine is written). Sex with clients is not treatment! Anyway, I doubt he HAD insurance: looking at the Illinois licensing web site, it appears that Mr Blair was practicing without a license in 2004 (his license as a professional counselor is shown as inactive since 2001). Oops. That might lead to criminal charges. The therapist and/or employer would be personally liable if successfully sued. It will be interesting to see how this plays out legally. Suit is for breach of contract and malpractice, but can you commit malpractice if you are not licensed?
  4. Genuine domed glass crystals are usually of uniform thickness, i.e. the inner surface is concave and the outer is convex. No magnifying glass effect. Many replicas is use a convex outer surface and flat inner, in other words, a simple magnifying lens. Looks like crap from the side and I just can't wear a rep with this flaw (unless the gen is the same). Acrylic is molded so it is easy to duplicate the shape of originals. I'm with Ubi, make mine tall and acrylic. I love my Helfand's Tropic 39, optically superb and a perfect fit on the common DRSD rep (but you will have to settle for a non-rotating bezel).
