  1. Yeah, that's the one I'd be most interested in, too. Really like the grey dial with black sub-dials.
  2. I just want to be clear: You guys are corrupt. CORRUPT!! You're all Getting rich Off of poor innocent While the admins :hitler: Condone the corruption While good, honest, hardworking folk like the OP Wait for justice (and to find out who has the best submariner)
  3. So I was wondering..... Who has the best submariner?
  4. It's funny, I was checking out TZ last night, and there are people with Gen PO's that are annoyed about the idea of the AR on the outside of the crystal possibly scratching- so they're buffing it off...and it's kind of ironic, because they're actualy making their gens look more like our reps, while we're trying to get heavier AR, to do the opposite.
  5. I think you might be right about the updated model, with regards to the hands issue. I know that everyone on TRC was on Angus to tell his factory guy to change the font of 'automatic' from the red that he'd used for his prototype to the white that is more common....only to discover that there's another (I believe more recent) model that actually DOES have the red lettering...but no one had yet seen it cause it was just released.
  6. I disagree about the AR not being as important as the hands/dial. That being said, the dial on your 6th gen is flawed, in terms of the Omega logo being way oversized....so I should qualify my comment about the importance of AR by saying that- assuming the dial is "close enough" (which the 4th gen 42mm and this ultimate version are)- then the AR is by far the more significant issue. I love this watch, but until there's either a relatively cheap aftermarket AR solution available, or the dealers start offering a full AR mod (I've heard that atleast one of them is considering this?), I don't think I'll go for it. When you see the real watch, you can hardly tell there's a crystal even there- that's how good the double-sided AR is on the gen. People talk about how getting proper lume on their rep is the most important 'flaw' to get corrected. I disagree. If it's night or dark, no one can even see what watch you're wearing, so it's largely irrelevant in that context. Functionally, yes it would be nice, and it's definitely second on the list of improvements- but the AR issue is clearly the biggest issue with reps in my eyes at this point. It's a very clear difference with some reps. For some, it's not as important- but for this Omega, it's a huge giveaway, IMO.
  7. So is this the same watch that Flavor Flav reviewed, except with the replacement dial? Or did his come with the 2836 movement as well? Also, is this supposed to have better AR than the previous generations of Planet Oceans? It seems we hear that about each new rep, but then it's always *light* AR. The 42mm version would be a better fit for my small wrists, but if this version is truly the best version- and there isn't going to be a correspond upgraded 42mm version- then I might just go with this one. Doesn't look like there's going to be a rubber strap option on this.
  8. I blame all of you for turning me into this. I take no responsibility.
  9. I wish that there was a 'perfect' 42mm Planet Ocean in the pipeline. I guess the 4th gen is as good as it will get. The gap in the bracelet between the endlink and the first link is a probable deal-killer for me. Looks like the logo and logo placement are better on this version, vs. the 42mm 4th generation. My kingdom for good AR. Especially on this watch- it's a straight give away. The other flaws to me are secondary and liveable, if there was good AR on this, I would buy two. I bet you everyone would gladly pay an extra $30 bucks on each potential purpose if it meant good AR. I truly believe it's the next significant step.
  10. I would go homicidal if I was a dealer and people just pointed out flaws to me all the time- that being said, I think the lume on this was supposed to be C1 (white), instead of green.
  11. Maybe that's the answer. Still, it's relatively expensive. I think the ultimate solution would be a rep solution.
  12. It's SOOO weird that you posted this. I was literally just on Ofrei this morning wondering exactly the same thing. If you check again, though, you'll see that there's an AR'ed version of the crystal down the page that's way more expensive. The inference being that the ones you're talking about do not have AR. We've got to come up with a good way of cheaply addressing the AR problem. It drives me absolutely nuts. Maybe there already is a good solution, but I'm just not aware of it. I'm not really into Pams, but don't they come with decent AR? One thing I don't get, is if the factories put 'light' AR on the crystals....why not bump the price of reps up 20 bucks and do it right? You're already 'applying' the AR...so why not apply it well? I mean, if they weren't doing the AR at all, okay, I could maybe understand...but to do it poorly? It doesn't make much sense to me.
  13. Yeah...I feel dumb...rightfully so. I didn't realize the connotation of 'aftermarket'...and I couldn't find the orange strap on Ofrei. Impulsive. I realized the orange strap was probably not real- but I thought that the rubber strap was. Don't ask me to explain my logic....ugh. Maybe I can get out of it. Not likely....but I might try anyways.
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1 These aren't authentic, are they...? What was I thinking.... I checked the guys feedback and I see he's sold a few of these before. He's also shipping from Malaysia, which pretty much cinches it. I wouldn't even care *that much* if the rep rubber strap would bloody well fit on the rep PO's. Unfortunately the rep straps won't. Not only that, but the leather strap isn't going to fit. Bah! Impulse buying at its finest.
  15. No AR (or very light AR) drives me bonkers. I've got to find a place to outsource my crystals to have it done. I would do it for $30 a pop, but I've read that it's $80.
  16. No kidding. I've also gone to an AD and priced out the gen strap. Yeah. Not cool.
  17. My only concern about the ingenieur would be the seemingly poor welding of the clasp/bracelet. There have been a number of people that have had their ingy break.
  18. I much prefer the PO on a strap. I would prefer a rubber strap, but the 42mm versions don't come with one as an option, unless you go with a cheaper movement. If I could get a 42mm Orange PO on a rubber strap, with AR as good as the gen and correct logo placement- I would be in heaven. The PO is one watch where I just don't want to get it unless it's almost perfect, because I like the watch so much.
  19. Whahaha...the eye sees all. I hope the question of the color of the hands gets resolved. They do look dark in the pictures. There won't be a MOP version of this watch, will there?
  20. I hope that this version does, indeed, have AR. I guess none of our reps (or almost none) have really sufficient AR...so it wouldn't be that big of a disappointment...relatively speaking. That being said...there was a thread a while back asking what the most annoying flaw is for members- and for me, it's definitely lack of AR. I would pay extra for it. I know it can be done after purchase...but I'm still at the stage of the hobby where mods are intimidating. I'm still debating this watch. If everyone starts getting on-board, then I'm sure groupthink will take over, and I'll take the plunge. It seems right now that everyone is a little hesitant...because they want to see which version is the best, and wait for the dust to settle. I've got to say that I would find this an annoying process, if I was a dealer. I would start having nightmares about people finding these inane flaws with everything, and my business varying wildly with the arbitrary perceptions of the OCD of our members....
  21. I'm still wrestling with whether or not I'll buy one of these. It seems to me that the version that is slated to be released in two weeks will likely be the best version...but what I'm shocked by is how the various feedback about imperfections in the reps seem to be dealt with by the factories in real-time. I'm shocked that the reps could be getting refined at the same time that they're being sold. Maybe I'm wrong about whether that's happening- but it does seem amazing how quick the turnaround is between feedback about flaws, and actual corrections within the manufacturing process. This hobby is seriously addictive. I'm only now starting to appreciate the extent to which you can get wrapped up in it.
  22. I'm hoping that I can get some feedback here, but first- be warned...I am a noob and am sure that I'm going to expose my stunning level of horological ignorance at some point in my post. I've got a new Tag Link Chrono from King that has been exhibiting some symptoms that I think *might* be indicative of a faulty movement. I wanted to check with you guys before contacting her about it, in case I'm wrong. When I wind the watch, I'm only getting about 26 hours or so of running time before it stops. I had figured I would be getting closer to 48 or so. I'm not running the chrono...checked to make sure it worked, and then haven't used it since. I've only wound the watch three times at this point. This last time, as it was starting to tighten up (harder to wind), I actually felt what seemed like a hiccup, or the dreaded feeling of no resistance, for about a quarter turn of the crown after about 15 full winds. That made me a little nervous. I want to get this figured out soon, as I want to be able to contact King about it if the movement is indeed damaged. I am really crossing my fingers that if it's damaged, there's some way for me to get it replaced...and it's not a loss. Thanks for any help or feedback that can be provided.
  23. I had a dream I got this watch last night. What are you people doing to me!?!
