Great advice, P. Thank you!

This is a funny story - I guess spotting a fake isn't that easy

Great story! Good find! -
Good lookin out, gentlemen! I would never have known any of the aspects you all brought up. I have my dream watch in mind, and I would be devastated if I spent a bunch of money only to find out is was on aftermarket parts and a gen movement. Just one more reason I love this place and all the knowledge that I can gain from members here.
-
Well done! I have to build one of those some day. Yours looks great!
-
Ah, yeah, the Tudor hands would be way off. I don't think I have ever seen an aftermarket set of hands like that. But I am sure someone here can steer you in the right direction. We both know the knowledge base here is incredible. Sorry I couldn't help.

I am by far no expert, and really have no idea, but would the Tudor hands that Clark sells work?
-
That is a great group of parts, you are so close! If you can, finish it. I saw your sales post, if only I had the funds. I would jump on that!
-
I think you have a great idea! I agree with E, I think it would add value down the road. It could make a wonderful gift from your wife to your daughter on her wedding day, or perhaps when she has her first child.
-
Thank you for the information and your expertise! Well done!
-
Thank you for the update and all your hard work! Really looking forward to this!

I did. Good catch. I don't post here a lot, but I sure do read a lot. I was watching this auction thinking I may actually be able to finally afford a snowflake. Thanks to all the experts that watch out for us that do not know as much. I love this place.

Looking for a datejust, after a long period of abstinence
racer80 replied to dcrooz's topic in The Rolex Area
I picked this one up back in March. I love it. But the polished center links are a magnet for scratches, at least for me. I got a gen crown for it, but broke the stem trying to change out the crowns. I need to get the right tools. But the crown screwed right on the tube perfectly. -
I am looking forward to the end result. I would like to build one of these, too. Good luck! Can't wait for the finished product!

I'll tell you what, you can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there, but wouldn't you rather take his word for it? No, I mean you can take a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's ass, but then, no, its got to be your bull.... HAHAHA! -
Franken Rolex Datejust Home after a long journey

Great looking datejust! Glad to hear of your good fortune! -
I found it at trustytime. It was around $240. There is a link in the dealers section. But most, if not all of the dealers that I checked out, had a pretty good selection of datejusts with many different dial and band combinations.
-
Thank you, cougar! It took me about ten tries, but I finally got the iphone camera dialed in.
-
Sorry it took me so long, but here is a quick pic of my DJ. In my opinion it is pretty dressy, but I still wear it with just about anything.
-
The more I see these Tudor subs, the more I like them! Good work!

I got an awesome datejust from Andrew at trustytime. I will post some pics in the morning if i can figure out how to do it.

Over $1000 with three days left. I would just continue saving my money for a gen complete watch at that point. Unless someone gave me all the other parts to make it completely gen. Even then, I still don't think I could pull the trigger at that price.
