  1. Interesting idea, but IMHO this goes back to 3-4 years ago when there were some pretty accurate 7750 62xx series watches available for the same price. And aftermarket parts were made from unobtanium, dals were flawed, etc... All in the same way as a 'new' 7750 version. I think that the vintage Daytona is for the connoisseur, and as such, extreme perfection is a prerequisite. In other words, I think that if you are willing to step up and pay $800 for a close rep, you probably would opt instead to buck up and buy a real V72 62xx instead.
  2. Here's mine - mov't starts/stops, needs lubrication.
  3. I still am the reigning champion For old time's sake - behold!
  4. Wow, over 10k views. That's crazy.
  5. Hey, the Brits were founded upon their sea-faring prowess! No choice in the matter!
  6. This reminds me of why I wish I didn't sell my old EL TW-SD a few years ago ***sniff ***sniff
  7. Damn, I hate when sellers pull their bids at the last moment!
  8. Nice post! Gotta love the subject matter.
  9. You know what they say... Once a classic, always a classic. Very true. On another note, LPs sound better than digitized music. Especially with the trusty Linn Sondek LP12, Krell amps/pre and Altec Model 19s Oftentimes, I think that the future is created with the past in mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pVAyEnnsrM
  10. One of my all-time favorite watches. No need for me to own a rep. For me, my 1675 was "the one that started it all" - ever since I have been collecting watches in an attempt to find another watch as perfect as the 1675. This watch was my daily wearer for countless years, it has travelled all over the world with me, been with many gorgeous women & has been with me through the worst/best of times. What a friend
  11. I second what Avitt said. The stock mystery movement is a POS. Save your pennies.
  12. Nice Wrap 'em up, I'll take 'em all BTW, I saw a mint condition red Gullwing 300SL the other day. When I say mint, I mean it looked fresh from the dealership. Amazing.
  13. The little one in Century City really does not have too much. The Las Vegas store is quite extraordinary. But, I think the best here in SoCal is Westime. Now they really have an impressive store.
  14. It's ok, my friend. The GMT-II is a great watch. It's just not the same thing as, say, a 1675. GMT-I: GMT-II: Personally, the 2003 330i is as ubiquitous as the GMT-II... But, the 1973 3.0 CSi is rare, gorgeous and a head turner - just like the GMT-I. It all depends on how you like to roll. Cheers
  15. No such thing as a GMT released into the wild without COSC certification. Stay away from sapphire GMTs - they are nothing special. Do buy 6542, 1675 or 16750 ---> all 3 are very special and will only increase in value! Also, never buy from a liar. But you know this already. Cheers
