  1. This watch, NOT this dealer. http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_11&products_id=2533
  2. I just got (after a VERY long wait) a classic GMT from one of the TD's. The quality control pictures looked great as does the watch with one major exception. The dealer informed me this watch's bezel was bi-directional which I have no problem with since I believe that's true to the original. What they failed to tell me is that it's free-wheeling with absolutely NO clicks. I don't think that's right. Tell me if I'm wrong, but it should click right?
  3. I suspect Asian Clone 2836-2, but was charged for ETA. Had no choice in this Model, only ETA available.........
  4. Both the pictured gens WERE mine. During the last three or four years during the recession I've sold a LOT of posessions. When I'd sell a high dollar Rolex I'd but a cheaper one. Sometimes I'd sell two and buy one. Eventually I'd have no gen Rolex', That's when I started looking into the rep scene. Now unless I start making a LOT of money....and I mean a LOT......I'll probably just stick with the reps. The real heartbreaker for me was when I sold my Porsche, bought a BMW...then had to sell that. Before this recession I was proably the highest earning home inprovement sales reps in the state of Virginia. Good company, good products, NO SCAMMING just good honest business! Within two years business went to 50% of what it once was and has gotten worse since then. People are scared to death of spending money and I don't blame them. Now I own a mattress store and am doing OK, just OK. But I'm thankful for what I have and know that I'm a lot better off than a lot of folks. So Thanksgiving will still be a day of thanks for me!
  5. 14060 from Silix: Pictures posted.................. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/139867-14060-from-silix/
  6. Got this watch from Silix. I think there's was a little communication breakdown. I wanted the case with the lug holes like the Gen. They kept telling me they were waiting for it from the factory for over a month. Finally I relented and told them to send me the one without the holes. So I get the watch this week and it has holes....wtf? But it's what I wanted so all is well. I've got to tell you, overall I'm VERY pleased witht this rep. I've owned two gens of this watch, the 14060 and the 14060M and this rep does not disappoint me. The good: dial and hands look really good. lug holes although not perfectly positioned are close enough to gen to fool just about anyone, band is proper hollow links and hollow end links, proper diver extension, keeps good time, nice coronets on dial, crown and clasp....... The not so good: crystal has coronet, not proper on this one (14060), proper on 14060M with rehaut engraving, one band screw was very stubborn but after soaking overnight in Kroil (heat did NOTHING) got it loose and out, bezel feels kind of sloppy when turning, gues I'll just leave it alone - problem solved! Here's some quick and dirty pics..........enjoy 2010 14060M Gen Older 14060 Gen
  7. You must be a Psychic...... That's the exact phrase I wanted to search
  8. I'll get some pictures up after I get the band put back together. But this thing is pretty freakin accurate. I had two gens of this watch, a non engraved rehaut, non-COSC 14060, as well as an engraved COSC 14060M. I've compared this rep to the pictures of the gens and am REALLY liking what I see. I'll post them here or in the main Rolex forum, but if I post them elsewhere, I'll leave a note here............
  9. It's official.......I'm a dumbass! Thanks..........
  10. Am I missing something obvious? I can't find the search button in the new forum layout...........
  11. Soaked it overnight in KROIL (Kano Research OIL). Supposedly penetrates to 0.000001 inch, that's to the millionth of an inch! Used the stuff on old cars before and it's unbelievable. If you ever need a great penetrant I really don't think you can beat this stuff. Used by all the Aerospace Companies and all the Fortune 500 companies involved in any kind of assembly/disassembly work. I bought a can that will probably last me for life over 5 years ago. Got the screw loose and also loosened the fixed link pin that you're not supposed to be able to move. Now I have to get some epoxy or super glue to put the link back together. What glue have others used? This is just the pin that slides into the other half of the link. Smooth surface to smooth surface, but a VERY tight fit. Guess the KROIL penetrated this VERY tiny space also.
  12. I just got a 14060 from Silix yesterday and am overall very pleased with the watch. They even shipped me the one with the lug holes after I got tired of waiting for it and gave up. Told them to go ahead and ship the one with no holes but I guess they got it just in time. I'll try to post pictures later, it's pretty damn accuarate! Anyway here's my problem with the bracelet. On the end of the bracelet, by the clasp, 6 o'clock side of the watch, there are two removable links. I have removed one. The last link is held by a screw that goes into the half link which is part of the clasp. This last screw, through the half link, holding the last removable full link, won't budge. I've gotten a good screwdriver on it and any more force I'm afraid of completely screwing (no pun intended) it up for good. Has anyone ever gotten an extremely stubborn bracelet screw loose by applying heat or by another method? Any advice would certainly be appreciated. In adjusting it to fit reasonably well I've had to take all the slack from the other side, the adjusting holes within the clasp. Now the watch rides on my wrist high on the noon side....leans AWAY from me. I don't care for this. When I adjust my watches and I HAVE to choose a side I have it leaning slightly TOWARDS me............. Thanks...............
  13. I sent back a watch today because the date wheel was horribly misaligned. To send Express was $30 and 1st Class was less than $10, so I went 1st Class. Here's my questions: 1) Iif Chinese Customs were to seize the package would I be notified? 1st Class, not Express... 2) If seized would the Dealer assume responsibility, or do they only guarantee one-way (China to US)? In this case it's PureTime watches. Here's a tip for all............. When getting QC pictures request a few of the date from dead straight ahead. All I got was an out-of-focus picture of the watch on the timing machine. From now on I'm going to ask for the date cyclops displaying the 9th, 15th, 25th and 31st............ This was my first rep purchase, so live and learn.
