  1. I placed a stupidly low bid on this NOS dial before I bought a black rose Submariner dial for a 5512 build, really not expecting to win it. Turns out I did Not sure which case this would fit though - does anyone have any ideas? DateJust maybe? It's a 30mm dial with the date window at 3...
  2. That's a great tip, cheers! I'm about to pull the trigger on the 5512, I guess I'll spend the time practicing my luming until it arrives Thanks for the advice Woof, I'll certainly look to making some better assemblies after I've honed my skills, but I'm really looking for the cheapest way to work on improving right now. I'd love to vintage up the dial, so I don't want to spend too much money on it since I'll be taking a pin to the lume and spritzing it with tea, etc. With that said, I've been searching all morning to find cheaper dial and I can't find one anywhere. Guh. Does anyone know where to find a cheap 7016 looking dial?
  3. I've heard of Yuki's, but he doesn't have the typical sub dials, only Monte Carlo's and Snowflakes.... Anywhere else without having to resort to a gen?
  4. Okay, so I've gone over a few posts about Snowflakes and it seems that a cheap 5512/3 from Josh might be the answer, though I can't find anywhere that mentions the dial diameter in it.. Now, where would I find a rep 76100 (or similar) dial? Preferably a low priced one, in case I want to practice my lume skills
  5. Hey everyone. I'm new to the game and have a few reps and a homage under my belt, but I've always LOVED Rolex and Tudor subs, especially the new and the semi-vintage (i.e. those without a half-inch of acrylic on top). I was thinking of buying the parts and assembling a 76100 (or similar) *myself*, I've never assembled a whole watch from parts before. Thing is, I have no idea where to start. I don't know the first thing about which cases, dial and hands I'd need, or where to find them. If any Rolex cases are similar/cheaper/better/will-do. How to vintagize the parts and so on. Can anyone out there shed some light and walk me through what (mid-priced) parts I'd need to buy? Cheers!
  6. I can't see the image in the OP, but Watcheden has a similar Belstaff jacket to the one TheBluePrince posted: http://www.watcheden...-66145-p-1.html I sent them an email a while ago asking for more specific sizing (instead of just M, L, and XL) but they never got back to me..
  7. A gen tube and crown should do it - if you meant without replacing them, not a lot I don't think..
  8. Cheers JKay, you've been great at answering my incessant babbling. That's such a shame it's a common issue, any UPO/5g42mm almost demands to be frankened! I'll be sending it of to fxrAndy asap to get the full treatment. Thanks
  9. I bought a 42mm PO from Tony about a month ago, and it's worked well enough, looks great and so on.. Then a few days ago, a member here bought to my attention that the ETA clones' winding mechanisms were 'smooth like butter', and mine felt as though it was grinding, making a soft, but audible buzzing noise, meaning it was probably a DG4813 movement. Today I popped the crown to set the time before wearing it, and it now it doesn't want to screw back in - I can push it all the way down to it's usual 'closed' position, flush with the case! I'm not too keen on sending it back to Tony who's been helpful, if a little slow to respond, as I'm really don't want to wait for two months to get it back, I love the thing to pieces. Is this a common issue, is it easy/cheap to fix? Thanks for the help..
  10. Yup, I can hear a grinding noise, almost like someone's running a metal pen lightly across a table. It definitely feels (and sounds) as though there is some contact happening. The sweep is fairly smooth, though it doesn't look completely continuous. Anything else notably different before I start Goldbluming?
  11. [censored], my 42mm PO has a rough wind 'feel'. I paid for an ETA clone. Going to have to buy a case tool and open that puppy up. Argh, I've got a bad feeling about it already. Is there any way to tell without opening the case up?
  12. Wow. How much is this costing you?! Where are you getting the green Nato finish done?
  13. Understood, but if you were to put both under a microscope and compared them to the gen counterpart, which of the two (wm9 or BK's latest) would come out on top? I.e. I have friends who own gens, if I were to get one or the other, which would be most accurate to the real thing?
  14. So are the wm9's or bk's latest offerings most accurate?
  15. Thanks Gran, a tonne of info there. The 2813 and 4813 have quite a few differences according to that spec sheet. How would I compensate for the ~1mm height difference? Also the middle (minute?) hands are 152 on the 4813, up 2 from the 2813. Will the hands be transferrable? Apologies for the questions, I've never thought about playing about with the innards before, there's a lot that goes into one of these watches! EDIT: fantastic, looks like it's a drop in replacement for the 28
  16. Browsing through the official Omega site and stumbled on these beauties, but can't find them anywhere on any dealer's sites. I've got Josh looking into it now for me, but it doesn't sound good - at best he thinks he may have them but only with a 2813 movement. Has anyone seen reps of these about? Or maybe it's time I modded my first watch and swapped out the movement?! Would it be possible to swap a 2813 for a higher beat?
  17. Thanks for the welcome! I have a gen Omega DeVille 38mm which is a nice size, though can occasionally look small, though still great. Damn these in-between sized wrists! My thoughts were the IWC looked so big because it has a relatively thin bezel and enormous face; the 005 the face is smaller making it look like a smaller watch. Maybe it's just because I'm used to the smaller DeVille.. What are the resale value for reps like? If I don't happen to fall in love with the IWC over the next week or so, it would be nice to get back close to what I paid for it and replace it with something a little smaller. Thanks again guys
  18. Hey there. I'm a new member, been lurking here for ages and just bought my first rep from trusty ol' Andrew who's been a pleasure to deal with. It was an IWC Repeater that's too big for me unfortunately - such a shame, I *love* the look of it. Onwards and upwards, at least now I know I need a watch smaller than 43mm.. Currently toying with the idea of replacing it with a 005, and/or vintage sub..
  19. This feels a bit like necrophilia, but what became of this? I'm really interested in 005's at the moment, but I have small girly wrists too.. Just over 6.5".. A 44mm seems like it would draw too much attention. Are there any other comparably well made Pams in 40mm sizes?
  20. Looks great for iPhone pics. Did you do any colouring in Cam+?
