  1. Those hard to get I assume?
  2. Hi folks, Have a new XVI v2 that's less than a year old and the crown no longer wants to stay screwed in. Is there a reasonable fix or should I put this in the scrap pile and save for the real thing? TIA
  3. Does anyone know who sells a 5th gen 42mm PO Black/Orange numbers on a Rubber strap? Thanks!
  4. Superlative, where did you get yours from?
  5. Hi folks, Looking forward to a learning opportunity as a result of my first acquisition. I just received a Marx XV Spitfire, silver dial from Silix. I am very new at this, but my observations are as follows: Cons 1. Date window appears too small (this is what jumps out at me the most when I look at the watch) 2. Triangular thingy at 12 seems too small 3. Numbers seem a bit too fat (if I look at the 4 the gap in the middle seems very small) 4. Caseback shows "UTC", from what I gather this is inaccurate. 5. No AR as far as I can tell (none advertised) 6. Lume on hands is poor (only lasts a short time) and is practically nonexistent on the hour markers at 12,3,6,9 Pros 1. I like the watch (and this is what counts right?) 2. Build quality seems good (but hey, what do I know), please comment. 3. Watch band seems very nice, in fact I'm returning a croc strap I got from The Watch Boys as a result. I opened the case back and took a picture of the movement, advertised as Swiss ETA 2824, however this one is marked as a 2824-2. Please comment on the pictures (sorry about the poor quality, especially on the movement pic) and my observations if you can as I'd like to learn from this. Is there a better rep out there and would you say I should invest in addressing some of the short coming (like relume, AR and movement servicing). TIA
  6. If you think rep watches is pushing the limit (I know, around here not many feel that way :roll eyes:), this guy actually started a fake army. Somewhat ironically, he is Chinese. I don't know, but I would have been suspicious when he started calling himself 'supreme commander' LOL Since I ca't yet post link's here's the story from Reuters: LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A Chinese man was arrested for creating a fake U.S. Army unit and convincing immigrants that joining the squad was a path to citizenship, authorities said. Yupeng Deng, 51, allegedly gave his recruits military uniforms, had them parade in a Los Angeles suburb and took them to the decommissioned USS Midway aircraft carrier, which is a museum in San Diego. Deng charged more than 100 fellow Chinese nationals a fee of between $300 and $450 to join the fake Army unit, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. He called his bogus squad the U.S. Army/Military Special Forces Reserve unit, or MSFR for short, and he gave himself the lofty title of supreme commander, prosecutors said. Aside from telling recruits that belonging to the unit was a path to U.S. citizenship, Deng also urged them to pay him cash for higher military rank, according to prosecutors. He also allegedly provided them with fake documents and phony military identification cards. Deng, a resident of the Los Angeles suburb of El Monte, was arrested on Tuesday by sheriff's deputies. He was charged with theft by false pretenses, manufacturing deceptive government documents and counterfeit of an official government seal. Deng faces up to eight years in prison if convicted. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, and is being held on $500,000 bail. Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the District Attorney's Office, declined to comment on how Deng was caught. "All the details and evidence will come out in a preliminary hearing," she said. (Reporting by Alex Dobuzinskis: Editing by Peter Bohan) LINK: news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110413/od_nm/us_army_fake
