i already bought a gen daytona including all papers (see my signature), but it is half the fun... it's not about buying a watch more about the journey of building one...

Vintage Rolex prices are ridiculous. I blame the forums for this.

Why not just buy a Daytona? You get full warranty and can walk into a local AD to get service.

According to some participants that post their timepieces in the For Sale forum, Franken simply means "gen crown and gen springbars" and this allows them a 200% increase in the timepiece's value.  SuperFranken would mean "gen crown, gen dial, gen hands, and gen springbars." You must have gen springbars!

I messaged the seller and all I got was a "rubbish" reply. Apparently, he doesn't care whether or not he sells counterfeit items are legitimate.

Some idiot and his $282 are departed.

Thanks for all of the input, so far the 564 is preferred; the tobacco dial and distressed Leather are a great look unlike anything I currently wear, plus it has the benefit of being a new model so, just waiting for an answer from a TD now...

 

@superlative: I looked for the 040 but could not find it available form the dealers listed, it is another nice looking Ti alternative, thanks for the mention.
