I pulled the photo and corrected the color- and it did not come up so green. Photoshop 'knows' the right settings- this method has worked for me in the past. Correcting it takes off some of the green hue.

LOL...now you made me more than curious dude...so you get the pics from dealers, correct them to look like the genuine and then they convince you to buy the product ? LOL ! No offense, but what do you mean with correcting pics ????

I was just looking at the recent dealer listings, and Davidsen has a new 005 listed. I've looked at the photos, and compared them to photos of gen- this looks more spot on than any one I have seen. Color of lume looks right, even the crown looks good. Only thing I notice is font may be just slightly off.

Am I missing anything??

hmmm now i am confused...i thought the "upgraded" oo5 looked really bad due to the obviously TOO green numbers...they might be well lumed but they are obviously too green !

...or is this just the pictures doing injustice to davidsen's work ?? I have not (yet) owned a davidsen-pam so i really dont know, i can only judge from the pics...

i belive that rep factories are aware of the BP and of the success that rep could have...the main probl for them could be the movement for the watch...

so we are patiently waiting....

i know...and i doubt they will be able to create a movement with the datwheel so far outside and a working reserve indicator...as much as the factories have made improvements in working with

different materials (ceramic see HBB) if they could would improve their movement skills that much, they might as well start a genuine brand...

There is no good Big Pilot rep today. Now, will there be one? I bet there will. I'm thinking we'll have a good rep of this very, very soon.

The Big Bang ...regardless of finish is the giraffe of the horology world......designed by a committee who had no contact with each other.....and submitted it to the maker and told them just to get on with it.......it's a poor imitation of the AP Montoya....Jean Claude Biver simply plagiarised the design......look at the beautiful symmetry of the AP....the bezel bolts perfectly aligned.....then look at the Big Bang.....with the double slot screws ....all out pf alignment ....really bad design......then look at this Baume et Mercier.....with a completely integrated strap.....and gorgeous bas relief dial.......that's an example of beautiful detail that the BB lacks in every area....sorry....the BB's a lame duck.....!

I dont like any of the three....but especially the AP...damn, what do you want to do with it ? Kill someone ? I bet if you have it on your wrist you cannot put your hand in your jeans pocket....unless you are wearing baggy jeans for 12 year olds...haha

Not at all, but i think chances are very very low that we will see. The maker of this piece is the same who did the HBB and only seems to do stuff he has the gen of...it sure would look sexy on braces...

But before thinking about the bracelet i am more worried that the flaws pointed out will not be corrected...which means no Cousteau for me

At that price I assume it is ceramic. It looks good though. I have not bought one yet and had two basic questions. Does this version usually come with white datewheel (versus black one) and have the movements in the reps been working fine? I had previously thought there had been only one or two limited versions with white datewheel and that was the basic giveaway on the reps as that edition had a total of 500 pieces. Be gentle as I know nothing about Hublot. The ceramic version is intriguing although $600 for an A7750 rep seems steep. Oh well, whatever the market will bear.

There are both, white and black datewheel versions, but steel case black ceramic bezel is only coming with the CF dial, the other one (which has the same dial as the steel bezel version) is fantasy...

Ok, i thought to be able to better compare, I copied the pictures Angus showed us of the gen the maker used for replication with the rep sample side by side (rep on the Left, gen on the Right ): Enjoy ! and comment please !

hmm...maybe i am too critical....

dial:

1) numbers on outer ring too close to the edge

2) datefont different from the gen (but i must admitt its pretty close)

3) numbers on the inner ring (which is supposed to be rotatable) are centered but they actually should be closer to the middle of the dial !!!!

other than that, the dial looks very very close, nice work.. =)

watch back:

1) wood looks like some cheap plastic, its too bright brown

2) engravings are ALL TOO THIN AND NOT DEEP ENOUGH !!! look what massive engravings the gen has and different font

watch side:

1) crown engravings not as crisp as the gen !

That is absolutely a rep. Look at the alignment of the 10 and 20 on the minute chron dial, the date font, and the depth of the date. Even I can pick this one out.

Thanks for the sharing this finding ! I have to agree, the watch in the pic seems to be a rep. This is actually a clear sign how good factories are by now... Congrats at everyone RWG ! I just hope there will not be any problems for the board... Poor fella who bought the watch and sloppy Hublot Managment cause however he got that warranty, they got fooled or were simply sloppy in sending out ...not that the warranty would be of any use, but still...

Most important thing is you are happy with it. However, i wouldnt be....IWCs being my new toy I might have missed something in this whole davidsen discussion about the font but chad is so RIGHT: Davidsen's font is simply wrong ! Look at pictures of the gen below and you decide ! Also, why is your lume blue instead of green ? Actually I love the blue more but is this some camera trick or is it different lume ??

This is the right font, offered on the 111H by PT and others...except that the gen has more yellowish font colour, it is less bright white....But the davidsen font is wrong IMHO...

Congrats ! Must be awesome having the gen on your wrist.

The only two serious flaws i can see with the rep are the "L Swiss L" being to close to the six (which is no news) but it also seems to be a tad smaller on the gen. Plus the engraving on the back.

These are so easily corrected, I hope there will be a corrected version available on the rep soon.
